There has been an update on the DeMarcus Cousins story reported earlier on KSR today. According to Sean Cunningham, Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended by the NBA for 2 games following his confrontation with Sean Elliot after Friday’s loss to the Spurs. The suspension starts with tonight’s game for the Kings.

Demarcus is old news he gave us 1 yr and I gave him 1 yr, who really cares what he does now has no impact on this yrs team at this point and no impact on the football hire. I am a fan but he was lazy alot when he was here and acts like a jerk often. Could have been so much more than he has accomplished. Good thing is he still has time to turn things around but it seems unlikely to happen.
Here’s the thing. When we as a fan base continue to blindly take cousin’s side every time he gets in trouble, it reveals such an extreme bias. @20 Uh he accomplished quite a damn bit. He was the most dominating rebounder in the SEC since Shaq demanded double teams every time he touched the ball. He has carried the Kings since he got there. If not for him they would lose every single game. He has basically 1 good player on his team

Another example of the Stern administration screwing the players . Commentators like Eliot make their living off the players. 1) What could he have possibly gained by going out to confront this broadcaster? If the broadcaster had said, “You’re right…I was wrong.” what did Cousins gain?
2) How would it look if the NBA allowed its players (almost exclusively huge men) to go around attempting to intimidate the people that covered the league? The league (and the players union) do NOT want to drive away media that are covering the game.

How were DeMarcus and Duncan treating the style of play during the entire game? Duncan comment anything after the game? DeMarcus sees the guy in the stadium, on the floor, in plain sight and that is it?
Waving arms? Making threats? Sounds like fancy farm picnicks. No pushing, grabbing, space violation? Sanantonio guy feel in danger? Demarcus is up front guy, negative or positive. This seems, from this report, something most guys do when talking sports. Thanks DeMarcus for not waiting until being in the safety of your own locker room giving reporters the shot of miss qoutes and embellishments to get the strait stuff.

Instead, UK fans call him “physical and tough”. All the stupid rationalizations posted above for Cousins behavior don’t even consider the facts. Sean Elliott pretty much said Cousins shouldn’t be talking trash on a Hall of Famer. Why did he say that? Because he knew Duncan wouldn’t say a word back, but would kick Cousins’ ass on the floor. I think Cousins needed one more year of college. Not because of his skills (he did dominate when he was here, no question) but because of stuff like this. I think Cal helped him grow up a lot while he was here, but he has regressed in the NBA now.
I also have a bad feeling that he’s going to be Antoine Walker #2 with his money some day, hope I’m wrong.

Did you see the UK/Wake Forest NCCA tournament game when we put three guys on Duncan just like every other team that played them did? Duncan is a man in a business that includes tactics that are not pretty. I personally don’t like it but the teams and players seem to. Go try to moralize with something else.
Oh yeah, bringing up some poor U of L player being victimized, well it is easy to not mention the hacking, back slapping, pushing in U of Ls games. UofL game. If UofL was too physical, that’s the fault of the refs for not controlling the game. 43#Duncan is the only relevant part of the equasion. His assessment of DeMarcus ‘ action compared to all the others would place the level of punk or not. Not yours, mine or the announcer. What is punk about asking the guy what he said? Are his oplnions made on a Tv or radio forum beyond reproach? A player has no right to question said in the public domain?
Where in the world would a comparison. Of a t ball parent assaulting an opposing Coach come anyway near to applying to the assumptive response of throwing an elbow? Or style of play in a particular game exampled by Behanen pushing Jones from. Behind and then the gesture. You analytical grasp and response are poor and off topic.
