It has been a LOOOONG 48 hours for me as we have crossed the state from Louisville to Lexington to Hopkinsville, back to Louisville to Pikeville and back to Louisville with the Barnstorming Tour. Lots to report a little bit later this afternoon. First two quick notes….
(1) I didnt get to see the Derby Classic but am sure I missed very little. I love the game but please dont use it as an indicator of much. Remember that Shagari Alleyne was MVP of the game and scouts were saying that Edgar Sosa was ready for the NBA after his performance a couple of years ago. One piece of news however did come from the game….Point Guard Paul McCoy from Oregon told reporters after the contest that he was leaning towards Kentucky. Interesting development.
(2) Josh Harrellson was also on campus today for his visit as well. He went to the Blue-White game, where the Turkey Hunter spotted the man who “is ready to finally shoot that free throw” walking through the stadium. He reported that he looked like quite an athlete, but was wearing jean shorts. I would call that a “push”.
The last 48 hours with the Tour has probably been one of the more interesting times of my life. Being able to interact with the players, fans, and all parts of the state has been more than fascinating. I look forward to being able to share more as we go. And as for “Hillbilly Days” with Joe, Ramel and Woo….all I can say is “wow.”
