Indiana held their elite camp this weekend. The camp could have potentially lured in many UK recruits, since the Hoosiers and Cats are included on a lot of the same lists. In the end, it looks like there wasn’t too much to be interested in, from a UK fan’s standpoint. Here’s what UK fans need to know from the camp:
– Marquis Teague, who recently set foot in Lexington, did not attend the camp. He still plans visits to both Louisville and Purdue before making his decision.
– 2012 standout from the Hoosier state, D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, did not attend the camp either. As the Indy Star reported on Friday, Smith-Rivera planned to use this weekend in order to take unofficial visits to UK, UL and Xavier. One interesting thing, worth noting because of the visits, is that a conversation during the Adidas It Takes 5 with Smith-Rivera, led to the young star saying, “Hopefully I’ll get this recruiting thing over with soon because it’s just a lot of pressure right now.” He has taken unofficial visits to IU, UNC, Purdue and Tennessee in the past. On his upcoming visits, Smith-Rivera told the Indy Star, “I’m looking forward to the visits. You see a lot of coaches at the tournaments, but it’s nice to be able to see the school.”
– Two kids attending the camp, that have been on UK’s radar, include: 2013’s Darryl Hicks and 2011’s Jeremiah Davis. There have been many different reports over the weekend saying that Hicks had a great camp. Nice to hear about one of Kentucky’s own.
