Could 2015 be Cal’s Best Class?

I know, I know, we are barely finished with 2013 and the 2014 guys haven’t set foot in Lexington yet but here I am writing about the players in the class of 2015. Well 1 it’s summer and talking recruits is a Kentucky tradition dating back to ’45 and 2 this class has so much potential it deserves to be talked about.  With the news breaking over the weekend that Thon “The Highlight” Maker could make the move up a year here’s a glimpse at what Cal could be bringing in next season:

Malik Newman: #1 Point Guard

Diamond Stone: #1 Center

Cheick Diallo/Carlton Bragg: #2/3 Power Forward

Jaylen Brown: #1 Small Forward

Charles Matthews: #1 Shooting Guard

Thon Maker: #2 PF in 2016

With up to 7 guys going in next years draft the Cats will need a stacked class to fill some of the holes the departures create. Cal has things lined up to do just that. While last year taught us that high ratings will not guarantee instant success there is just so much talent that could be enrolling next season. If Ulis and Booker return with Lee and a center Kentucky could be set up to be a basketball force once again.

If the two year rule takes effect. Watch out!

The guys may never end up being the next John Wall and Boogie but the potential is there for 2015 to be Cal’s best even though it seems like we say that every year.Where do you think 2015 will finish amongst Cal’s best when it is all said and done?

More of this crap? Geez, don’t you jokers ever learn that it isn’t how they are rated before they come on campus, but how they end the season? Can’t wait to read the article asking if 2016 is Cal’s best class. Or 2017. Or 2018. Or 2019. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Food for thought… consideration of the NBA requiring 2 years of college, in the near future.
