Corey Peters is the Falcons Man of the Year

This one will make you proud of a big member of Big Blue Nation living his dream. Former Kentucky defensive tackle Corey Peters was selected as the Falcons’ nominee for the 2011 Walter Payton NFL Player of the Year award. The AJC says Peters has been active in the Atlanta community during every week of the season. Peters has worked with the Atlanta Fire Department, breast cancer survivors during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AirTran, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The NFL will announce its Walter Payton award winner during the weekend of the Super Bowl.

It would be really nice of you to help send Peters to the NFL Pro Bowl the weekend before that. Vote here.

I worked with him for a while when he was playing for KY, not only was his work ethic wonderful but he was an all-around good person. He still stops by to visit us whenever he comes back to Lexington; the success and money didn’t change him a bit.
