Just got off the phone with Ricky Lumpkin. Here is the story according to him. He committed initially to Kentucky but had changed his mind to go to Louisville. He said he made that change because of the “winning tradition” of Louisville. However after Coach Ortmeyer (?) and Coach Petrie came to his house today, he became convinced that he could be a major part of turning “a basketball school” into a “football powerhouse.”
His quote was: “I am ready to get after it. And I now know that if I come to Kentucky, I am going to be part of a group that will be a party of history…..a group that changed Kentucky football forever and I can’t wait.”
He said that he had considered going the other way, but tonight made him realize Kentucky was the place for him and he cant wait to begin.
