A bit of news that got lost in the excitement from yesterday, Patrick Towles’ Boston College Eagles defeated Wake Forest to become bowl eligible. Towles threw the go-ahead touchdown pass with 8:03 remaining to help Boston College win 17-14. The Eagles finish the season with a record of 6-6 and 2-6 in the conference while claiming the ACC’s last bowl spot.

Some possibilities for bowl games would be the St. Petersburg Bowl, the Quick Lane Bowl or the Camping Independence Bowl. The Independence Bowl would create a possibility for a Kentucky-Boston College bowl game, as some bowl projections have the Cats heading to Shreveport. This would provide an interesting matchup for Kentucky and Patrick Towles. Towles passed for 5,099 yards, 24 touchdowns and 24 interceptions in his three seasons with the Cats.

The win over Louisville should upgrade Kentucky to the Music City or maybe the Tax Slayer bowl.

I would agree, but some predictions still have the Cats going to Shreveport.

I think you’re right; hopefully, the next round of weekly projections pull us out of Shreveport and drop us in Nashville — at the worst Memphis for the Liberty Bowl. Good for Towles, though.

Screw Patrick Towles, he lost so many games for us and held us back for so long no one cares about what hes doing at BC.

Why is that a “troll” comment? He wasn’t effective as Kentucky’s QB, left the program, and now who cares what he does?

Wish him well but he was def not the QB for us at UK. Patrick tried his best to help us get a win over UL all these years and it didnt work out. I am glad the coaches know what kind of QB is needed to help us win games. Johnson has been poised and much improved and gotten us 7 victories. He will only get better and i see him as our starter next season as well barring any injury. Just gotta add like 15 more pounds on him to survive the grind of the SEC.

good for him and I’m glad he’s going to a bowl, but he IS pretty below average for a QB
