Computer Rating Round-Up

Over the past number of years, College Basketball has been flooded with numerous computer ratings that tell us how well our respective teams are doing at this precise moment. From Sagarin to Pomeroy, they’re all different, but they all try and lead us to the ultimate goal of who is #1. The 2012-13 season is in its infancy, but that doesn’t stop us from wanting to know who the best team is right now. So in order to give some clarity on the matter, here are numerous computer ratings from around the internet. Granted it’s early in the season and they should be taken with a grain of salt, but most look surprisingly accurate at this point in time.
#9 Kentucky with a rating of 90.73.
Other team of note: Duke #1, Indiana #2, Louisville #4, and Florida #6.
#9 Kentucky with a rating of .9334
Other teams of note: Indiana #1, Florida #2, Louisville #4, and Duke #6.
#10 Kentucky with a rating of 2.66
Other teams of note: Duke #1, Ohio State #2, Indiana #7, and Louisville #8.
There are numerous other polls out there, but these are the ones who included preseason ratings, so they’re a bit more accurate at this point in time. Also, they all seemingly agree with the “eye tests” that are the AP and Coaches polls, which place Kentucky at 8th and 7th respectively. Again, take all polls, computer and human, at this point in the season with a grain of salt. Regardless, they all appear to be giving a pretty clear indication of how Kentucky is playing.

The best thing about college basketball is that the polls are mostly irrelevant at the end of the season. It only matters how you are playing in March. GO BIG BLUE!!!
1. Kona….is you last name Coast??
Cats will improve as Cal figures out how to play the twin towers,
but what about WCS’s stamina issue?
Cal said he can only play 4-5 minutes at a time.
Can this improve during a season, or is it a permanent
problem? Is WCS just too big and too fast?
Is he playing harder than Anthony Davis?
WilleCauley Stein may have to adjust to being in basketball shape as opposed to football shape.or just being in Calapari shape. He is a smart kid and it is obvious what he can become.
Just makes Anthony Davis even more unbelievable.
And Gilchrist, Jones, Cousins, Patterson, Miller
We should be ranked somewhere between 6th and 10th from what I’ve seen of other teams so far. That being said, my Final Four seeds, based on statistics, shows IU, UL, Duke and UK with IU as the top seed followed by Duke, UK and UL being the most vulnerable.
