The most disturbing thing I sqaw today was how matter-of-factly Joker spoke about the game. He sounded like somebody speaking who had no loyalty to the program, no ties to the game, no dog in the fight. WHERE IS THE FIRE? WHERE is the outrage? After Louisville lost to Marshall last year, I thought Strong was going to need medical attention, he was LIVID! Joker’s like, yeah, whatever.. we lost, ok.

#6- You’re TOTALLY delusional…a ‘national championship’ Rifle Team isn’t going to solve the drop-off in season tickets and the joke that’s KY football! Barnfart needs to get a buy-one-get-one Greyhound ticket on out of town bus with Joker.

Joker knows his fate. You can see his dissapointment in the way he talks and that he knows he doesn’t have the players to get this done. This team lacks playmakers on both sides of the ball. I do believe Joker when he says we are better, but this wasn’t a game where the outcome would have been different if we executed a few more plays. We could have played a lot better and maybe covered, but it is clear to everyone who watched that UL was clearly the better team.

I am so tired of the Mitch must go talk. He is batting about 90 percent on all his hires at UK . He did not make a good hire with Joker and can correct that with a new hire.He did not make a good hire with Billy G and then hired Cal . Are you happy with that one ? We can not think that he is going to bat 100 percent on all his hires . I have been following other UK AD over the last 40 yrs and he is way ahead of all the others. We had a chance this year of winning the Capital Cupthis past year and finished 2nd . We have never been in the top 15 before and thatmisna fact. He is not perfect and you are it as well . He has to make a change and I trust he will get it right this time like he did with Cal . Its also clear he made the right hire with Brooks when people questioned that . You need to look att the whole picture and stop being short sighted in your thinking

Listening to Joker speak answers a lot of questions about why we suck. He is perhaps the worst communicator I have ever heard at this level. I’m not sure I have ever heard him finish a sentence without his mind randomly starting in on something else. That is not just meant to be funny, but how does someone coach that can barely communicate? This is just pathetic…no getting my season tix renewed is looking like a great decision right now.

#18 hits the nail on the head. It wasn’t execution or coaching or turnovers or defense. Louisville just has better players, plain and simple! Joker knows it and Strong knew it, and that’s exactly why he benched his starters up 3 scores. The sad part is, UK is not goin to have better players until Strong moves on. So should we hope that UL has a great year, so CS moves up to a bigger and better gig? Or do we continue to call for Jokers head? Bottom line is UL ain’t that great and neither is their conference. But what does that say about the rest of the season? I say we win 3 if we are lucky. No big upsets and we better be ready for WKU. We have a punchers chance to win one in the SEC…

I’m sorry, but Joker and his staff needs to be fired, so maybe we can save part of the season. I think most people like Joker as a person and KY boy….but it’s time for him to go. Mitch Barnhart!!! Are you listening to the fans???????? He needs to go!!!!

Here’s the short list of coaches that would consider working at UK, and UK(if were serious about football, but it’s not) should hire.

    1) Bobby Petrino
    2) Bobby Petrino
    3) Bobby Petrino
    4) Bobby Patrino’s hawt sexetary( she has to know mor about football than Mushmouth
    5) Bobby Petrino

Any other list shows Barney and the BOT are just happy with the way things are going.

    Ps.

    Last years list was:
    1) Mike Leach
    2) Mike Leach
    3) mike Leach
    4) Captain Jack Sparrow
    5) Mike Leach

We’er glad you love womens tiddly winks. And even though Title 9 makes us spend money on womens tiddly winks, doesn’t mean squat to the financial future of the University. Football is the cashcow, the golden goose. Barney has cut the goose in half so he can get all the golden eggs inside with no plan for future golden eggs.

  30. BlueTexan

#22- Your thinking is why we’re in the position we are with football. Barnfart’s initial hire (Brooks) was ONLY due to Morris early exit and Barnfart called an ‘old’ mentor to save him as his initial job as AD was in jeopardy (due to inexperience)soon after he signed-on. BTW- IF you have ever read anything re: Cal’s hiring, you’d know he recruited us more than we recruited him. I’m looking at the ‘whole picture’ as I’ve been an alum and $ supporter for (regretfully) longer than you…even the embarrassment Hagan forgot more than Barnfart will ever know. Building a national championship Rifle Team, etc. helps the Capital Cups points…but, how many season tickets have they sold to Commonwealth? Barnfart/Joker have decimated a revenue source that can only be rejuvenated by their timely departures!

Joker did not create 2 fumbles and a missed goal, thats on the players. The play was scripted right, the rbs should know to secure the ball firmly having been through multiple seasons now. With that said, Rick Minter has some serious explaining to do. The D was just awful.

#40 hit it on the head, this is not Joker Phillips fault people. He didn’t fumble the ball, he didn’t get winded and get pushed 4 and 5 yards off the ball and get drug by ball carriers. Our offense looked great, it was firing on all cylinders with a starting qb who has little to no experience. Our run game when set up by the pass looked strong despite fumbles. Now as far as Rick Minter is concerned there is no excuse to not switch up the defense and load that box up a little more. Never understood the Minter hire and never will, the guy came out of the blue and has proven nothing while here.

  43. Big Blue Coming At You
    2:32 am September 3, 2012 Permalink

No Joker, you aren’t better than that. Your players aren’t, your coaches aren’t and you aren’t. We finally get a QB with some balls to stand in the pocket and you tell him to throw near laterals when we need 7 yards for a first down. Strong could read you like a grade school book. He knew how to keep your offense at bay and exploit your pathetic defense. You sir are one of the worst coaches i’ve ever seen. You don’t have a damn clue on what your doing. Please, if you really love UK then you’ll resign. You can’t right the ship. It’s just sinking further and your demise is inevitable. Why not take all the pressure off yourself and just go.

  44. Big Blue Coming At You

40 and 43. Just stop with the excuses already. It is Joker’s fault when his players are lacking fundamentals. It is Joker’s fault for predictable, conservative play calling. It’s all coaching! This guy can’t coach himself out of a wet paper bag.

Should have called a TIMEOUT on them long drives by Louisvile. Talent is there just got to know how to use it, Didnt stretch the field with Louisville having them subpar DBs,Shouldve run the ball more, because the middle was wide open with no LB.Didnt run no seam route when Louisville was pressing, Kentucky have a better team than the Coaches and Fans think they have. I saw some playmakers that wasnt put in position to make plays. You have to throw the ball downfield every once in awhile. Plus you take what defense give you. The Coaches got to play their best players and quit worryng about this player been in the system for 4 years, because if he hasnt produce let them talented young guys play. I sick and tired of favortism. Just play your best 11 guys no matter what classification

#40 and #43, it is jokers fault when his players are laughing and joking at the end of the game on the sidelines. It’s his fault when he shows no emotion at the press conference after the game(what part I could understand) Bottom line is this: Joker stays-fan base keeps falling off and we lose more and more. Fire Joker goes-fan base will come back to see if the product has changed for the better, but at least they will come back. Is it a easy decision? NO. One that needs to be made? YES. WE ARE AT THE BOTTOM PEOPLE,A CHANGE HAS TO BE MADE!!!

  50. Tick tock tick tock

Our football coach can’t manage a ballgame. He lacks understanding of how to use all 60 minutes in ways that put our team in positions to make important plays. No urgency at all when we have the ball and the clock is still running after a 4 yard gain. No time-outs when we might be able to stop momentum. The last two minutes of the first half could have sent a message, but that would have required some inventive and aggressive minds under the headsets.

Why did anyone expect anything different than last year ?? 2 and 10 this year,,,get used to it. Maybe we will have another one man coaching search by the AD. Congrats to the Louisville fan base but if you think the Cards can compete with LSU and Bama based on playing Kentucky,,,,,,,,well I am sorry,,is not going to happen.

    8:28 am September 3, 2012 Permalink

Anyone can see from watching that game, if anyones job should be in jeopardy it should be Rick Minter. Our offense looked pretty good, besides the turnovers, they were moving the ball up and down the field with good play calls. However, our defense can’t stop the run, fails to get off the field on third down, and our defensive backs never make a play on the ball. If anyone should be worried about their job, it should be Rick Minter.

Joker has the team better,,,,,he doesnt fumble the ball,,,,,,,,he doesnt get lost on 3rd and 20. He has a young team and everyone has to realize to build a program takes time. We have to get some MEAT on D line-we get pushes around way too much. Rick Mintor better get his stuff together-if we would have played half defense we would have been in that game or even won. Louisville isnt that good.

  58. Chuck
    9:23 am September 3, 2012 Permalink

Blitz, blitz and blitz. You can’t rush 3 or 4 against a good passing qb and expect him to miss his passes. Two fumbles that could have resulted in tds and a missed fg, that’s 17 points!!!! Don’t start getting mouthy about replacing your coach after the first game, that’s the last thing we need right now. This team has 8 home games. Maybe if we really show support at those games we might win a few. Names like Leach and Petrino are not the answer. Both have too much dirty baggage. We don’t need that. Maybe Boise St.’s coach would be interested since they’re going to the Big “Least”

You do realize that the D-line was touted as being the strength of this defense right?(and compared to the secondary it is). Nice try though.
