Coach Cal with Gregg Doyel on KSR

John Calipari

John Calipari was a guest on Kentucky Sports Radio radio this morning with first time host Gregg Doyel, and the Matt Jones fill-in got Cal to open up about the possibility of going 40-0 next season. Cal told him, “Why not chase it? Everyone says it can’t be done, let’s go for it.”

Cal also explained why Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” is so close to his heart and what he saw in Dominique Hawkins that led to a scholarship offer.

I agree! Let’s go for it! They say it can’t be done, but let’s do it and not even to spite ’em. Do it mostly because it’s legendary! It also means beating U of L again when they’re riding high!

Greg Doyle got more out of Cal than Matt could’ve ever hoped for. Easy to spot the real pros. I think even Cal alluded to it at the end.
