Coach Cal recruiting in the Ocean State tonight

After much speculating that his recruiting trip “east” was to finally give Laodu the full-ride he so badly deserves, it turns out that Coach Cal traveled to Rhode Island to scout a pair of five-star teammates, Kaleb Tarczewski and Alex Murphy.  The Massachusetts duo are both in the class of 2012 and have about a gazillion offers at this point.  Murphy, a 6’8″ small forward and brother of Florida Gator Erik, is ranked by Rivals as the nation’s best at his position.  Tarczewski, a 7’0″ center, rates as the fourth-best center in his class.  But, by their powers combined, they are a Northeast prep basketball force.

Admire their work…

Soooo…according to Jimmy Dykes there’s a lot of teams in D1 with short rotations,(i.e. 6, 7, and 8 man rotaions), he list Kentucky’s as a 6 and 1/2 man rotation.

Is there anymore evidence needed to certify this guy as an idiot?

When it comes to recruiting…..do we really question Cal anymore?…….just sit back, relax and trust he will get the best talent no matter the ranking….

….who would you rather have Lamb or W. Barton?
….he sold out on B Knight….over Selby!..who would you rather have?
…..he sold out on T Jones over CJ Leslie..who would you rather have?
……and next year he sold out on A. Davis over Q. Miller….who would you rather have?
……and he has sold out on Trevor Lacey (who we will get) over Wroten….who wold you rather have?

I will sit back and enjoy this ride as it lasts with coach Cal…Go Big Blue!

#14. Ummm, maybe you guys should try paying for some players, because you guys are straight awful. Bunch of no talent wastes of scholarships. I mean, you guys make so much money being the awesomest athletic department ever, you can afford it. Then maybe you wont have to be a notch in Coach Cal’s italian leather belt every year. Face….

#8) Why do so many Ky fans think if we don’t get a guy then Cal passed on them? Do you really think Cal told Leslie and Selby he didn’t want them? Ky isn’t the only school on the planet and Cal is always going to lose 5 star players to other schools for different reasons. My personal opinion I believe when a 5 star does pick another school over Ky they sometimes lose out. I think Cal is the only coach in America that can get so much out of every recruit that commits. I don’t think any other coach could have Lamb, Jones, Knight playing as well as they are now on the same team.

#30 There are several players playing this year who committed the same infractions that Camby did and they were not punished to the extreme that UMass was. The NCAA selectively enforces and punishes teams and players without rhyme or reason.

30 Cory Maggett of Duke did the very same thing Camby did. Got money and stipends from an agent…..Did Dook get their season vacated? No! Why? because coach Rat face is at Dook. Plain and simple it was because of the school Dook. This is why the NCAA isn’t a very good Judge, jury, and excecutioner, because they’ll look the other way for one, but slam the hammer on another….and by the way GFY!

#30- please list Calipari’s NCAA infractions.

    I’ll wait.

While you’re at it, you can contact the UK admin to see if they’ll let you have a peak at the “glowing” recommendation letter on Cal they received after inquiring about him before his hire.

Cal didn’t go after Beal that hard, right before Beal commited to Florida is when Calipari was busy trying to get guys like Knight, Jones, and Lamb to commit, so, NO, Beal never really was a priority for UK, sure Cal wanted him, just like every coach in the nation, but he never tried that hard. Either way, I think we gonna be just fine in 2011-2012 with Gilchrist, Teague, Davis, Wiltjer and whoever else we get, hopefully Lacey…
