Coach Cal at Kentucky Speedway

Coach Cal is ‘gramming again

Today, as many of you probably know, is a big day for race fans in the commonwealth. If you venture down I-71, you’ll notice a large line of automobiles of all shapes and sizes waiting to get off the interstate. And if you can see past that sea of vehicles, you’ll notice a packed racetrack full of fun and games for the whole family those of drinking age. Tonight is the NASCAR Quaker State 400 at the Kentucky Speedway (click for info). And our favorite hoops coach is having a good time there today.

John (and Papa John) took the the ol’ Instagram today to show up what’s up. Coach Cal will be driving the pace car later tonight. Check out his photos above. Here are a couple things to note:

– Papa John continues to show that he knows there’s value in being a UK fan, as well as a UofL supporter. We ain’t mad it, Papa.

– Check out Cal’s jacket. Another genius method for Calipari to preach his mottos: “Refuse to Lose” and “Players First” are important phrases to kids these days. Unfortunatey, I don’t think many top recruits watch NASCAR, though.

– And as always, Cal took time to sign autographs because he’s awesome.

UPDATE: Looks like they are evacuating the speedway due to weather. Be careful out there, racefans.

Hilarious. U of Smell wins the title, but Coach Cal is in the pace car. Pitino is probably visiting Karen Sypher.

    Ha, ha, ha

The g-force induced by Pitino’s facelift precludes him from driving faster than 35mph. Clearly below pace car requirements.

Papa John’s dad attended U of K. Papa John wanted to also, but couldn’t afford it. He happened to be in the Sunny Side of Lou-a-vuhl when he started his gig in his dad’s bar in IN. He is smart enough to know that life is better across the river (now in Anchorage). Uavel is a promo vehicle. KENTUCKY Basketball is a passion.

#1 said it best. The Tards may have a paint scheme tonight but the leader of #BBN will still lead the field to green. Does anyone see the irony in this?

Coach Cal is everywhere. The man really lives it. Nothing false or secretive about his passion. He even shows up for his media commitments after a loss.We don’t have to wonder about his enterouge procuring extramarital fruits and dispose of the facts.
