Cliff Alexander will use his last visit on either Kentucky or Florida

Last week, 2014 big man Cliff Alexander said that he wasn’t planning to take an official visit to Kentucky this fall because he had already traveled to Lexington for last season’s Big Blue Madness. After a good showing at this past weekend’s Peach Jam, Alexander may be singing a different tune. Last night, the 2nd best player in the 2014 class tweeted that he will use his fifth official visit on either Kentucky or Florida. Alexander will use his four other visits on Arizona (September), Kansas (October 4), Memphis (October 18) and Louisville (TBD).

Can’t hurt to come take another look, right Cliff?

Here’s another look at him:

Reminds me of Amare’ Stoudemire. Has that explosion on offense and defense. Long arms and he uses one-hand alot to finish over people. Hes strong and has wide, wide shoulders. Kid will continue to improve every day. His HS team is average and has no other stars, so he literally gets triple-teamed every play but doesnt hang his head or whine at referees. I hope we land this kid- Hes an absolute monster- But I dont know if hes the type of player Cal can sell coming to UK- Im sure Izzo can pitch a more attractive playing style with opportunities to post-up and such. If he would play center and be the primary big man, then we are in better shape because he would be dynamite alongside Towns.

After such a monster 2013 class, why is the 2014 class looking not so great? I thought UK will be everyone’s first priority by now.

“Is #2 HS player the next Dwight Howard?” For his sake, lets hope not.

The 2014 class needs some physicality in the paint. Karl Towns is extremely gifted but more of a finese player. Cliff Alexander is the perfect player to grab rebounds and dunk the ball. If he does that alone he will be a double double player nearly every game. Perfect fit here

He’s the only player (to me) that when you looked out on the peach jam courts… You said, wow! His body is ready!

He is strong around the basket…dunks nicely…..but can he do anything 5 to 7 feet from the basket?

9, I don’t think he was ever not double teamed to know –when I saw him in Augusta. Seriously.

When one of the mix tapes shows a big man shooting foul shots, their speed up and down the court in transaction and their ability to guard out at the post is something I’ll subscribe to. But with that said C A is a difference maker.

He fits Cal’s system perfectly. He is already what Cal molded Terrence Jones into. A big strong guy that likes to play physical and rebound. Cal usually only has the guards in the true dribble drive. The big guys play on the baseline, so they can catch a pass for a dunk on a drive or crash the boards. Its very efficient when all the right parts are in motion.

Hey, could you guys maybe consider picking one of the recruiting rankings boards and sticking with it? I’m pretty sure CA is like the 4th guy who has been stated on KSR as being “the 2nd best player” in the 2014 class.

#4 Maybe because of the monster 2013 class. these kids arent going to come set behind some of the hold overs from this class. Our 2013 class was so good that not everyone is going to get the PT to be a one and done player.
The 2014 wont be what weve been used too because we will have returning players! The only locks for one and done are Randle one of the Harrison’s and WCS or Johnson depending on who gets the PT.
Lee, Young, Alex, and one of the centers will be the bulk of our 2014 class. Too go with Mudiay and Towns and maybee 2 more 5 star guys.

    14. Lee is likely to be the only player back for 2014 out of the group you mentioned. To people saying Cliff isn’t going to UK, you don’t know what your talking about. I know people in the Chicago AAU scene UK is where he has always wanted to go, Michigan State is the other player here for Cliff not any of the schools he’s visiting, except maybe Kansas he likes Bill Self and they’re the one team who could make up the ground on UK and Michigan St. So if he visits UF and not UK don’t worry just remember he isn’t visiting the other top school here either.

He is a MUST get, to play with Towns and Mudiay, the other players can be quality players Top 30 players to fill in the gaps, but to control the paint is a must in Cal’s defensive theory, he looks like a great weak-side defender as long as he learns to block shots and keep them in play.

Lexington is only a one hour drive from Louisville! Why not visit right after the UL visit.
