Clanton Staying at UCF

University of Central Florida standout Keith Clanton flirted a bit with transferring out of Orlando after his school was hit with a postseason ban, but has decided to stick around, according to multiple sources.  The Orlando Sentinel reports:

UCF forward Keith Clanton will jumping to a new school and is sticking with the Knights, a source with direct knowledge of his decision told the Orlando Sentinel.

“It’s always a hard decision,” Jones said of the dilemma facing the seniors. “… I brought each and every one of them in there and told them, ‘It’s about you. I want the best for you and the right decision for you.’ So I want to respect giving them a couple of days here to really take things in.

“But how could they not want to stay here? We’ve got a great place here at UCF. I love those guys dearly as people as well as players. They’ve really made a great commitment here this summer with their leadership. They’ve still got a lot to play for here at UCF.”

Loyalty is admirable, but it still would have been nice to see him as a Cat.  “The Senior With No Downside” won’t be able to help out this year, even though the current crew didn’t exactly need him.  Enjoy your senior year, Keith.  You tease, you.

Would that have meant Steven Van Treese would of have to decide once again that it was in his best interest to transfer to another school?

    You know, Corey…
there’s a kid at Fort Hays State, Frankie something, or maybe it’s Stanky Something… a second string 6’9″ junior center with a tremendous upside… he’s a little homesick for his Campbellsville, KY roots, and is thinking about displacing Nerlens Noel from UK’s starting lineup next year.
    Just a heads up.

Guess his draft stock isnt very important to him.

Havent seen anything like this since Share Ballhannen chose the Tards only to loose twice, to the National Champ Cats, in one year LOL

Good; if this kid wasn’t smart enough to get out of UCF, then he did UK a favor.

UK isn’t every kids dream school. just because we are fans of UK doesn’t mean everyone else is. So a kid decided to stay put for his senior year big deal. People like #6 need to get a life and stop bashing 20 year old kids.
