Chips are Falling

The battle of “sources” continues as Adam Zagoria reports that Anthony Davis, Marquis Teague and Terrence Jones will all enter the NBA Draft. He says that he expects MKG and Lamb to do the same, but has no “sources” yet saying so.

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Good luck guys! thanks for being a part of the BBN!
Lamb needs to stay.
All 5 tomorrow, gone.
Best of luck to them, it’s been great watching them!!
The Jon Hood era has officially began, we are going to need something from the 4th year Jr if we want to get back to the FF. Not to mention sealing the deal with Bennett.
Anthony Davis is declaring for the draf? I can’t believe it!
Teague is not ready for the nba. Lamb needs to come back. They must not want a education. They will be sorry they left Teague really needs another year.I just dont like the nba rules.
How come KSR is not breaking any o this news?
I really do come to KSR for breaking news on the cats. Hate that these other folks are getting this info first.
#6… I suspect Jon Hood will be the same place he was last year, he’ll just be watching a new starting five.
#8 I’m sure when they are making millions and not having to worry about class they will really REALLY regret their decisions.
Already won title! Go make that money boys! Thank you for the wonderful ride to the championship! GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW CHAPTER IN YOUR LIVES!
As bad as we all hate it, its likely that all 5 are gone! I wish more than anything that lamb and teague would stay! There have been so many “what ifs” over the last few years with players like Jody Meeks, Liggins, Knight etc. leaving early when everyone thought there was at least a chance they would stay, but I hope these players know how much Cat fans like me appreciate the time they have given and I wish them all the best in the pro’s and I will be following them when they get there as I do most of the former UK pro players. BTW, if Terrence Jones is reading this, you are the SHIZNIT! Love the way you changed your attitude and the team mate you have become, keep that mind set and a ton of aggression to the pros and you’ll be a star!
8 – Who says they can’t go back to school after their playing days are over? If education is important to them they will do that. Also, it’s not if they are ready, it’s if NBA GMs are willing to draft them. It’s a business decision. You can’t tell a kid to postpone his dream. You have to strike while the iron is hot. It’s not like Lamb or Teague would ever be a top 5 pick down the road any way. They are who they are at this point.
Hoping a couple will stay. Easy call for me to make, but Teague and Lamb are not ready
Just thinking in a few years what NBA team are we going to cheer for, every team will have a UK player.
In all honesty, I’d be the most surprised if Lamb stays. Matt’s always said he wants to be a pro the most, he just won a championship and was the highest scorer in that game.
Did those same sources say that Shabazz was coming to UK?
I’m with JT on this, I won’t believe it until I hear it from the actual player’s mouth.
This is terrible for college athletics and academics. What a disgrace and it’s all John Calipari’s fault!
Where did you see this Matt? Twitter? His website contradicts this.

#8- there’s a difference between us wanting them to come back and them needing to come back. These guys have worked hard their whole lives for this opportunity. Only a tiny fraction of all athletes get the chance to make millions playing the game they love. We should simply be happy for them and thank them for #8. I’d love to have them back but it’s not my future and my income at stake. They need to make the decision that’s in their best interests. Regardless of what they decide, they’ll be forever loved by the BBN.
Davis can be an all pro.
TJ a starter
Teague is gonna be interesting
He isn’t as good as Bledsoe was 2 years ago. And Bledsoe isn’t close to being a good pro now
Teague & Lamb need to keep themselves in Lexington. If both Teague & Lamb go low 1st round or fall to the 2nd round, then they need to come back. The odds are way too high their going to fall to the 2nd round.
and Nerlens was going GTOWN…..We will just have to see
thanks 12
Reason for college (for most of us) is to be able to get gainful employment and be a success. If you can make the $$ these guys can make in a few years(more than most of us will in a whole career) – they should do it. Thanks for the memories and there is no ‘time limit’ on getting an education – come back and share how you’ve been.
Yeah all of them are gone, just have to move on.
Think these decisions might be coming now to show Anthony Bennett how much playing time is available
What if Lamb & Jones had stayed for a 2nd year and we would have won #8….oh yeah. These guys have put in their time and it will pay off for them. Great if MKG or Lamb comes back and if not best wishes and lets focus on the new Cats.
28. The staff has been telling recuits we are losing the whole starting five since conf. play started. This is not news to anybody but delusional UK fans.
Shocked!
After struggling early in Kentucky’s season, Teague has gotten better and better as the season has gone along, especially since Kentucky began conference play in the Southeastern Conference.
“His decision-making has gotten better,” a Central Division personnel director said. “Tough kid. With the lack of depth in that position, he’s easily a first-round pick if he comes out.”
The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
The worst pro of the bunch will be Jones. Darius will have a better pro career than he will.
Can’t blame any of them for wanting to go out on top. I love these guys. Can’t wait for the next group!
I have a son who is 14, and fairly tall. He plays aau basketball and before he goes to play in tourneys this year I have been having him watch the first half of the Baylor game, and only watch T. Jones. He scored like 3pts, but totally dominated that first half with defense, rebounding and hustle. I think TJ will be a beast in the pros.
The NBA Draft will be awesome this year….not alot of internationals and 6 Cats to cheer on!!!!
This definitely needs to be a Caption This photo!!!
Of course Davis & Jones are going. T. Jones is an absolute beast and will kick butt in the pros. I’m so grateful that he came back for this season. No way we would have had #8 without him. Thanks for the memories, guys.
What a classy bunch of guys, good luck in the NBA. They were certainly fun to watch. Prefer to watch recruits such as these for one year than four years of the guys that Tubby was recruiting.
If your son or daughter were a Freshmen in college, and was in the top 2% in the world in Computer Technology, and Apple came calling, willing to pay them 3 million a year right now. Would you want them to stay to get a degree and work for someone out of college making 40k/yr? I would hope as a parent you would want the best for your child.
Congrats to one of the classiest groups of players we have had the pleasure of watching at UK. I hope each of you go on to bigger and brighter things. It was a great year and what you did for our state was wonderful!
To each of you who have even the slightest negative remark to say about any of these gentlemen…..Even though it is probably anatomically impossible, please find a quiet corner and attempt to reproduce with your person.
Thanks again guys!!
amen #41
You people negative on Teague are suffering from what is called in Psychology “the primacy effect.” Basically, your early impressions of Teague have colored your view of him. I agree that over his first 20 or so games he clearly was not ready…but at the end of the season he was fantastic.
If you look at what he did in the last few reg. season games and NCAA tourney I think you could make the case that he was the best PG in the NCAA.
– His handle is amazing,
– he is athletic, a great leaper, strong going to the rim
– great first stem blew by people and got to the rim with ease
– rarely turned the ball over
– hit long jumpers
– gets in the lane and dishes
– throw the lob to perfection
– hit timely 3s.
– tenacious on defense, and very strong.
What else do you want?!?! In fact, going into the final 4 I would not have traded Teague for any other PG in the Tourney. I also would NOT have traded him for John Wall OR Brandon Knight!!
Look at the 1st half of UofL game!
In the Final, during the 1st half he was ridiculously good. He got shaky for a little bit, but then…as Cal said in the post-game lockerroom “You hit that three and free throws when that shit really mattered”
Wake up to the fact people!! He was GREAT at the end of the season, he should be getting more respect from BBN. He is totally “ready” for the NBA, no doubt about it, and played as good or better at the end of the season than either Knight or Wall!
Jones will be a beast at the next level as long as he’s eager to work. Anyone saying otherwise must not have watched the same games I did.
Teague’s ready
