With NBA training camps in full swing, how about we take a look at a few of the former Cats playing in the league to see what’s happening in their pre-preseasons.
—First up, a look at Chuck Hayes in Houston. The Houston Chronicle has a nice piece on Chuck being able to move back to his natural position at the four after spending last season playing mostly center in Yao Ming’s absence. He’s eager to use what he learned in the middle last season to make himself an even better player, and I don’t think I’m alone in saying that watching Chuck play with Patrick Patterson this season may be what I’m looking forward to most in the newly interesting NBA.
—And what would an NBA look-in be without a trip to the nation’s capital? John Wall and his Wizards are neck-deep in training camp, and Wall is doing it all for his new team. On the floor, Wall has done nothing but impress everyone, including the NBA writers at the Examiner. There were rave reviews for Wall in the writeup from Washington’s scrimmages in training camp earlier this week, as his athleticism was on full display. And, when he and the other Wizard rookies led a stirring rendition of ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC as a bit of a team-building activity, his humility was on display as well. The combination of the two is what made him such a unique player at Kentucky and will make him a star in the league.
—And finally, I was going to give you an update on DeMarcus Cousins getting going with the Kings, but I think I’m just going to let Boogie take care of it:
