Check Out Archie’s “Playermetrics”

So maybe I’ve been geeking out a little bit lately when it comes to sports science, but the NBA’s “Playermetrics” feature online is pretty nifty. The interactive graphic profiles certain NBA draft prospects and gives users a 360 degree view of each player while also allowing users to compare draft prospects to current pros.
While Nerlens Noel isn’t included in Playermetrics (probably because his ACL rehab has forced him to sit out of workouts and the draft combine), Archie Goodwin is- and to be honest, I forgot how scary Goodwin’s measurements are for his position. Check it out:

While Archie’s combine measurements are fun to play around with (especially the feature that allows you to compare him to Anthony Davis), his draft profile leaves a little to be desired. Chris Dortch notes that while another year would have benefitted Archie, his raw talent and “potential to become a lockdown defender” should place him in the first round. While most other draft predictions are not that optimistic (tending to see him as an early second round pick), Archie did apparently enjoy a great workout with the Phoenix Suns yesterday; reports from Bright Side of the Sun say that Goodwin impressed the coaching staff with his… wait for it… shooting.
Our Archie? Shooting well? Hey, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Did he at least hit 2 of his 10 three pointers taken?
Right, Archie is garbage and won’t make it in the league he’ll be in china by the end if the first season
His measurements & skill set are very unimpressive. That’s why he’ll be lucky to go mid-second round.
He was here on a year like the billy g era. Forget him
