I miss when Chad Johnson, or Chad Ochocinco, was constantly in the news. Whether he was complaining about fines, complaining about playing time or complaining about losing, Johnson always seemed to spice things up when things were slow.
Well, the more things change the more they stay the same. Johnson tweeted earlier this week that with a little work on his cardio he would be able to play for FC Cincinnati, the USL East leading club that will take its talents to the MLS next season.
I can play for FC Cincinnati right now w/ a little work on my cardio…

Johnson tried out and played in a reserve game for Sporting KC in 2011, and in 2016 he said he wanted another chance with the club. That never happened. Johnson is semi-talented on the pitch, but the majority of scouts said the former Bengal-great relied too much on his speed and strength, and struggled with control and possession.
I’m all for Johnson giving it a go for Cincinnati although it would seem nearly impossible for him to make the team. Johnson is 40 and if he couldn’t make it 2011 when he was near his prime I doubt he will be able to do it in seven years later.
But shoot for the stars, Johnson!
And if that doesn’t workout, the defendingn USL Champions, LouCity FC, is still looking for a coach.
