You know its a slow news day when Kentucky Sports Radio is leading with football position changes, but that is what we are doing. It was announced today that three UK football players are taking the lead of most members of my Democratic Party on the Iraq war and changing their position. Ben Bates is on the move to fullback, Justin Jeffries (pictured above in all his St. Xavier high school glory) is headed to the offensive line and the big news, David Jones is headed to Wide Receiver.
At first glance, this news is not particularly surprising. Bates has needed a move and Jeffries had been predicted to move to the O-line since high school. The big news however is Jones, who besides having a stellar last name, will be able to add much needed depth to the wide receiver position. The optimist would say that this means that defensive back is in better shape than we may have hoped and the pessimist would say it means WR needs more help than we would like. The answer is likely in between, so we here at KSR Radio will stay neutral.
No news yet on how this will effect former Middlesboro High School star, Durrell White. Ultimately that is what truly matters….
