CBS Bracketology, Kentucky a 10 Seed?

It may be early in the season, but it’s never too early to start predicting the bracket for March’s annual NCAA Tournament.  Jerry Palm of CBS Sports feels the same way as he recently released his first Bracketology of the year.  And the news for Kentucky is awfully sour.  In the initial bracket, Palm has Kentucky as a 10 seed in the East region, playing San Diego State in the first second round.  Duke and Cincinnati are the #1 and #2 teams in the region.

Adding fuel to today’s already scorching fire, Louisville is the 2 seed in the Midwest region, playing their initial games in Lexington.  It feels silly talking about something that will assuredly look different by season’s end, but maybe a win today means even more to Kentucky than originally thought.  The Wildcats don’t exactly play a murderers row in conference, so a victory today could go a long way in boosting the national perception of the team.

The entire bracket can be seen here.

This game scares the “$hit” out of me, big time. This team has too many guys that yet don’t GET IT and also too many “ifs”. If Kyle can hit from outside, if Goodwin and Poythress can get psyched up to play a complete game, if we can show we are an improved team on offensive rebounding, and if WCS can give us a special game, we might have a chance to win.

Wouldn’t mind having to play UC. They are overrated as they are every year because the play same strength of schedule as Stonybrook

Predicting brackets this early makes no sense at all.

You can’t take this seriously considering they have cinci as a 2 seed. What a joke

if we don’t win today (close won’t count) we’ll get no respect from the committee. won’t matter if we clean house in the SEC or not, too many minds are already made up, and it’s just too much fun for them to downplay UK. it’s your team, your brothers, your honor, players. get it done. GO UK

There are a lot of surprises in this bracket in addition to UK being a 10 seed. North Carolina as a 12 and UCLA not even making the tourny!! To soon to tell…

UK and Tennessee a 10 seed? Yeah I can see where UT’s resume puts them on the same playing field as us. People that make these things just do it to get a reaction.

Ridiculous. If we win today we will end up with a 2 seed. Mark it down.

UCLA not in after beating #7 Missouri last night? They are now 10-3. That’s certainly enough to gt them “in”

We should be a 7 seed– at worst. 10 seed is a joke….

At this time, it’s no surprise, but also it’s meaningless.

Would take a 10 seed any day over a 8 or 9 seed. That’s the bright side.

UK’s only chance to move up after this week will be when they play Missouri and UF. A lost to any of the other SEC teams will do damage to their seeding.
