Let me keep 100% of mine and I will use no government programs and will even stay off the government roads. Let’s see who has a better quality of life. There’s obviously merit in some taxation, but Macon, most of the tax rate during Reagan was set up by Carter, just like the lower tax rate during Bush & Clinton was set up by Reagan. Were we more profitable as a country during higher taxes of Carter & Reagan or lower taxes of Bush 1 & Clinton? Both the individuals AND the government have more money during times of lower taxes because more wealth is created which creates MORE taxable income for the government.

Income taxes don’t pay for roads jackass, it varies by state but it’s usually local and state taxes as well as property and sales taxes. FICA taxes pay for social security and medicare. Medicaid is paid by the states. Gas taxes also pay for roads.

Agree with #37. I’m neither a fan nor a hater, but I’d be honored to be asked to visit. Of course, our kids want to go. The epitome of what a young man can do with his life. I’m sure they’ve dreamed about this visit for years. I’m very happy for them.
That said, wish the White House had scheduled Kentucky to visit at a time other than Derby Weekend.

I asked him why Obama seems to do so well off the cuff with townhalls and reporter press conferences and he said with a straight face that they feed him the answer thru his earpiece. I’m like “Whaaaattt you actually believe that?” and he says of course it is true.
