Cats third in ESPN’s SEC Power Rankings

With a few weeks left until conference play, ESPN ranks the Cats third in their latest SEC power rankings:

3. Kentucky: Its most recent wins over Samford and Portland may have helped it recover from the back-to-back losses to Notre Dame and Baylor that cost the team its spot in the Associated Press’ Top 25. But they’re just appetizers for the Dec. 29 matchup against rival Louisville, the nation’s most efficient defense. Kentucky’s point-guard problems will be scrutinized in the buildup to that game.

Here’s the full list:

1. Florida
2. Missouri
3. Kentucky
4. Texas A&M
5. Tennessee
6. Alabama
7. LSU
8. Ole Miss
9. Arkansas
10. Vanderbilt
11. South Carolina
12. Auburn
13. Mississippi State
14. Georgia

Here’s a question for a quiet Friday morning: how many SEC games do the Cats lose this season? I say three.

Kick the dog while its down……gotta figure the bottom feeder SEC teams will screw us on the road…I don’t trust this team to win the close road games….

    But…been wrong before!

The Cats don’t lose another game all year. Except the final game of the SEC tournament to Mississippi.

    Yes. Ole Miss.

3-4 is a realistic prediction at this point.

if you say under 5 you are being optimistic. 2010/2011 squad struggled mightily on the road in conference play and that team was significantly more poised than this group. i say 7 because im a realist and i realize ryan harrow is not the answer.

The team two years ago lost 6 games in the SEC as they were 2-6 on the road. I don’t know how anyone could predict that we only lose 2-3 with how we have played up to this point. I am going to say this team also loses 6 games:

    7-1 at home
    3-5 on the road

If Billy Clyde had stayed one more year at UK, the attendance would have been horendous. The players would have left en masse. He would have lost to more chump teams and the fans would stay away in protest, like football.

Why? Because fans can not sgtand to watch their favorite team tak an ass whipping to chump teams, when they expect beter.

if we lose only 1 at home, that would be fantastic. however its doubtful. if we play like we did against baylor, even half as badly as that, we will drop to more than 1.

What I know! The SEC is down and every loss will be considered a bad loss. Only 2 good wins to get in the SEC. I don’t know how many we win or lose but I know the SEChas killed UK in every sport this year. If everybody would be honest and put pride aside. You would know UK should be in the ACC that conference more closely resembles what UK is.

You’re all smoking crack. There’s no way this team will lose very many home games. Harrow is the key, and he’s getting back to form. People gave up on him too quickly.

I say we will lose 4 SEC games, but none at home. The SEC is way, way down, especially the bottom 1/3 of the league. Two years ago, the league as a whole was a bit better (albeit slightly), so that does play a role. Our schedule is pretty favorable as well, because we get to play Missouri at home with College Gameday in town. That game on the road could easily be an extra L, but at home, gives us an opportunity for a quality win. I think we drop games at Florida, at Tennessee (which are unfortunately back-to-back games), at Texas A&M, and at Arkansas. And I say we finish tied for 2nd with Missouri behind Florida.

I say 3-4. Would be more but the SEC is horrible this year. I agree with #8 Ryan Harrow is not the answer, and PG struggles with plague this team until we get the Harrison Hogs next season.

We could lose any time we go on the road. This team hasn’t played a true road game yet! They could win all the road games because we do have talent and Cal always get his team better over his Camp Cal. The only problem is every loss in the SEC will be a bad loss. No body is ranked but Missou, and FLA. I’m telling you people the SEC is going to kill us this year. Not that we are going to lose, in seeding for the NCAA. We would have to run the table to get to a 2 or 3 seed. That said I think we lose about 4 or 5.
Any body know if we play Missou or Flordia once or twice a piece

UK loses no fewer than 8 games this year, and no more than 11. It’s going to be a long season.

Have you lost your mind. This team played at Notre Dame which is a true road game, albeit a loss but a road game. The three team we lost to are all tournament teams and duke is a number 1 seed. The SEC only has 3-4 tournament worthy teams and a third are just horrible. So 3 losses would be expected likely one or two to Florida, an SEC random and one to Texas a&m.

The final 4 team from 2 years ago lost 6 SEC games. I don’t see this team doing much better.

By true road game I mean in a SEC caliber gym. Notre Dame will seem like a grade school atmosphere compared to what is waiting on them in some of these SEC road games. These SEC teams are terrible as I said earlier and every SEC loss with be a bad loss save FLA and Missou. However, you know just as I do that these SEC teams play out of Thier minds against UK on the road. This Team will lose some on the road in the SEC. This isn’t last Years team.incase you haven’t noticed Missou is a top 10 team. Vandy will always be a hard game on the road. Vandy has beat a lot better team than this one is. Baylor isn’t a very good tean right now bro and they handled us easily. We will be better but take off the blue glasses and be real.

I’m not sure who we play on the road but here are some teams that will be hard to beat on the road.
Tenn, A and M, Vandy is always tough on the road, Arkansas, Bama was a ruff game last year, plus FLA and Missou. We will be better but it isn’t going to be a easy road th hoe. I think 22 is right on the money it’s hard to think we will be better then the team 2 years ago.
That’s before factoring in UL. I think you would have to drowning in Blue Koolaid to think we SHOULD win that game. We might very well win but by know means should anybody honestly say we should win

#12 Its not pride it’s millions of dollars and other than football what sports has killed us. We won in both bballs and baseball. We will lose 3-4 in sec. Louisville in ranked in top 10 and playing at home,You think we should win.
