The SEC Tournament begins tomorrow with a sight that I personally have never seen in my years of going….the Cats playing on Thursday. It is right now about 8 pm and my friends and I are about to head out the door, but we are in more of a rush than usual, because there is an actual Kentucky game to cover tomorrow. I expect the Cats to win (and good audio to be available to you, the Kentucky fan), but I do have a certain dread about what might happen if they dont. The tournament is always awful if Kentucky loses before the finals (which has only happened once in my years of going), and the thought of a loss on Thursday is almost too much to bear.
In addition, I think the Cats must win on Thursday to make the tournament. I have said all season that a 20 win Kentucky team will not be left out of the tournament. But a 19 win Kentucky team, with a season-ending loss to Ole Miss….well that is a different story. And I think, by hearing Tubby’s comments on PTI, that he knows this as well. Thus I hope the team is not tight and is able to play with the aggression that they need. We shall see. I expect the Cats to win, but I cant imagine the reprecussions if they lose.
We are out the door….see you folks tomorrow with all kinds of good info.
