Its funny how a week changes things. Last week, everyone assumed Kentucky would get Quincy Miller and Louisville was the only major team looking at Bowling Green’s Chane Behanan. A week later, the Cards have hired a Nike guy, Miller now likes UL and Chane Behanan has blown up into a top 40 player nationally. So what is the next step? Well according to Evan Daniels of Scout.com, UK has begun recruiting the Bowling Green big man. Behanan, who transferred from out of state, is now an official top prospect and is the high riser nationally after this summer’s action. Behanan was the MVP of the NBA Players Camp and has probably played better than anyone in the nation that is not on one of the two USA national teams. Being an in-state kid now, one wondered if UK would finally take an interest and try to pull the Bowling Green star to Lexington. If they got Quincy Miller, the roster up front might be too crowded. But now it could open up and Behanan becomes of interest to the Cats. According to Daniels, UK began talking more to him this week and there is mutual interest.
UK will still have the #1 class no matter what names are on the back of the jerseys…but having a kid we can see in-state during his Senior season might spice things up for Ky high school basketball.
