Cats Lands Another Football Commitment

Kentucky locked in their 19th commitment last night in the form of Alabama safety Jacoby Glenn.  The 6’1″, 172 pound Glenn is a former teammate of current Cat Eric Dixon and chose the Cats over Mississippi State, Memphis and Jacksonville State.  He is not ranked by Scout.com, but sources say that’s because he’s too awesome.

This is what he does.

I trust Joker. At some point we start holding scholarships and targeting higher ranked guys, right? Right?

Cue the “we’re never going to be better than 6-6 if we’re signing these type of guys” talk.

A “zero star” in the state of Alabama would be a 3-4 star in the state of KY, as far as HS football goes.

    7) 6’1″ 172 HS weight is more than big enough to play safety in the SEC. On the small side, to be sure, but if he has the frame to bulk up 20 lbs (and most HS safeties do), he’ll be fine.

We can afford to get some guys that might take a little while to develop because after this year if both guys stay healthy and keep their heads on straight I don’t see anybody passing Glen Faulkner and Ashley Lowery up at either safety spot. Both guys have big time potential.

I was also told by a high school football coach that Joker and Co. want to see either great size and athleticism in a raw player or great fundamentals and work ethic in a solid athlete.
