Cats drop to 13th, 15th

apollo-13

The new rankings for the week in college basketball are out and, after their loss to Georgia, Kentucky fell a few spots in both polls. They come in at 13th in the Associated Press poll and 15th in the ESPN/USA Today, dropping three and four spots, respectively, in each. With Vanderbilt losing over the weekend and dropping out of the polls, Georgia’s jump to #24 in the AP leaves them as the only SEC team besides Kentucky ranked in either one. So, you know, the SEC still sucks. Here are the complete AP rankings.

1 Duke
2 Ohio State
3 Kansas
4 Syracuse
5 Pittsburgh
6 San Diego State
7 Villanova
8 Purdue
9 Notre Dame
10 Connecticut
11 Brigham Young
12 Texas
13 Kentucky
14 Texas A&M
15 Missouri
16 Illinois
17 Washington
18 Louisville
19 Temple
20 Wisconsin
21 Kansas State
22 Georgetown
23 UCF
24 Georgia
25 Cincinnati

The Big East media bias is alive and well.

BTW, UK is the only team to have 3 victories over ranked teams.(ranked when we played them)

Yes that’s an unexpectedly small drop. Texas is the best 3 loss team and I think it’s about right. Not sure if we’re the second best though.

This game has me worried. Their PG outplayed ours, and the one guy who had a giant chip on his shoulder couldn’t be stopped. But there is a lot of time left and Cal can figure this one out. It only takes a favorable bracket and a few upsets to have a clean path to the Final Four. This is why college basketball is the most interesting sport out there, you can try to guess what’s gonna happen, but really, you can’t.

Georgia is a good team with a great young coach -but we gotta get it together after that debacle (ways we beat ourselves) for sure. Jones is the obvious 1 who has to get it together as an individual but we have to be ready every game. The loss could be in hindsight what Cal needed. Need to dent that top 10, Top 8 however before conference is over to get that number 2 seed.

Link to the AP poll voters and where they ranked Kentucky: http://www.pollspeak.com/pollstalker/pollstalker.php?s=14&p=29&t1=44&v=129&w=10&r=T.

Please place a “BAD” vote for Terry Hutchens of the Indianapolis Star after following the link to his name. How do you rank Louisville, Notre Dame and Washington in the top 20 and leave UK and Georgia unranked?? Hutchens is clueless and an idiot.

I bleed blue but watch the ville yesterday. That VanTreese kid will bang up soon. Kid big white Athletic Hoosier that I am concerned with our big men for next year. Not just him but kids like Tennessee play so UP for us that if you have some beef and talent, we’ve got foul issues bad…. Eloy needs to up it right now. Jon Hood should be ballzy and play but I don’t think he is on that level. Stacey Poole, pull a VanTreese and come out of dang nowhere for one game and we will build on that. Go cats, and please, please, please “Jones, show up early and often!”, “Darius, it’s in your head.”

Are you kidding me…We are only 5 spots ahead of Louisville. A team we went on the road and beat down in the biggest game of their season…WHAT A JOKE

Look at the ESPN ratings, then look at the games that will be shown on ESPN that week.

Are you intimating from the movie poster of Apollo 13 that:

    a) we are ranked 13th in the AP

    or

    b) “…we have a problem”?

    Just wondering.

Lame. UofL plays nobody. They play a good team – us – and get crushed at home. Play two more weak BE schools and jump. Thank God they are about to play some decent teams so they can lose.
