Cats continue to dominate ESPN’s SEC Power Rankings

This post has nothing to do with Mad Men, but you should know that it returns on March 25th with a two-hour premiere.

With the weather outside sending everyone (especially Bill Meck) into a tizzy, it’s nice to know some things never change: for the second week in a row, the Cats sit atop ESPN’s SEC Power Rankings. Andy Katz writes:

1. Kentucky:
The Wildcats struggled in two road games at Auburn and Tennessee. But they still found ways to win. UK has two consistent stars in freshmen Anthony Davis (now at both ends of the court) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist; look for those two to continue to shine at home this week against Arkansas and Alabama.

2. Vanderbilt
3. Mississippi State
4. Florida
5. Alabama
6. Tennessee
7. Arkansas
8. LSU
9. Auburn
10. Ole Miss
11. Georgia
12. South Carolina

Tennessee jumped two spots after impressive showings against Mississippi State and Kentucky, while Georgia tumbled after being blown out by both Florida and Alabama. To me, the rankings seem pretty fair, although I would place Alabama above Florida, but that might just be my love for Anthony Grant seeping through.

What do you think of Katz’s take on the SEC this week?

seriously there are a few teams around the country that dominate their league like uk. The difference between 1 and 2 is huge. id say 2-9 are close and the bottom are just pathetic teams. ….this is why I hate march madness (soapbox comment) top tier teams shouldn’t have to deal with a decent team that has a hot night

I think Bama might actually be down under Tennessee, but that’s only if UT keeps up what they did against us this weekend.

When Cal leaves UK, Anthony Grant should be the next coach.
