Everyone is calling for Joker to be fired. And I agree, but we will never have a winning football program, until the administration decides to make it a winning program. I`m 51 years old and I have seen several coaching changes and none have made a difference. The only one that did was Curci and we were placed on probation afterwards. Unless you call going 7 and 5 or 6 and 6 as a winning program and I do not.
The coaching calls yesterday were horrible, the punt and 3rd and 26 and we run the draw, etc. I`m tired of the 3 to 5 yard play over and over again. But the call that sealed it for me was pulling Whitlow out and putting Towels in, after seeing that Whitlow was moving the team. That took all the rythum (spelling) away from Whitlow and that determines whether the quarterback will be successful or not.
Do we need a coaching change?? Sure. Will it do us any good??? Probably not. Not until we put money into the program. Recruits do not want to set in lawn chairs to watch a movie screen when being recruited, when the schools we recruit against have a building specifically made for recruiting. They are building new stadiums or up grading the older ones.
I love Wildcat football and I still watch them. I love these kids because they wanted to play here and will always support them. But, can our coaches recognize talent that we currently have??? Harmon looked good yesterday and he isnt even on the roster. Is he better than the guys who were in front of him?? It looked so yesterday.
I hope we can turn this around, but can we??

we could actually gain some SEC respect with kirby smart as head coach. For Alabama to have such a dominate defense it comes down to more than talent alone. It take great coaching and play calling for a defense to be that dominate for this long. Saban may get most of the credit but his DC kirby smart plays a big part in developing those players and that defense. With smart at UK this team is a 7 win team next year.

15 – no one’s saying UK is going to start getting ‘bama caliber recruits. It’s “what” you do with the recruits you can get.
15 – petrino could never beat lsu and Alabama at Arkansas. He wouldn’t do much better at uk before he left uk in a worst state for a newer job somewhere else. He did it a Louisville at the falcons and at Arkansas petrino is a one man football program wrecking ball ever where he goes is worse for having him there. Smart is one of the best recruiters in the country, he may not bring in the talent but he evaluates what talent to give an offer to which is why Alabama is so good. That get talent that won’t implode on itself unlike auburn. Smart would have the same uk kids, playing as a top 5 SEC defense next year. By the way no one knew who Dan Mullen or Charlie strong or James Franklin were before they left their coordinator jobs to go to teams with similar circumstances as uk. Last time I checked all three are better than UK this year.
By the way kirby smart isn’t someone I think is an up and comer. Everyone at Alabama and most the people at georgia(smarts alma mater) know that this guy is going to be a great coach for years to come. Don’t think smart is an up in comer the same way the joke was, smart has been the DC for two national champion teams and likely a third this year. And it isn’t all talent. Lsu has the same talent and was throttled by Alabama in the championship game. That’s coaching.

Ok Petrino would at least give it a better shot than what we will with Joker!!! No one on any UK forum has ever given a good reason why UK shouldn’t hire Petrino.Until someone does I am going to assume they are all UL fans!!!!
If we wait until after the season to dismiss Joker, then it will be after Christmas before a new coach will be named. We will then miss out on recruiting. Does Mitch understand this??? We have no Junior or senior class, now. If we did then freshmen wouldnt be playing. Lose another recruiting year and it would take a coach 4 years to turn this around, if possible.
