Andy Katz says over on his blog today that Kentucky could be facing off with UConn next year in the Big East-SEC showdown. Although it would be a daunting task for the Cats, it would be one heck of a made-for-TV matchup and give me an opportunity to win some cash off of my co-worker Scott. He’s a huge UConn fan (and Miami football, yes he’s “that guy”). Here is what Katz had to say:
Kentucky is expected to play in the Big East-SEC Invitational in New York next season, possibly against Connecticut. It also plays host to Louisville and North Carolina and goes to Indiana next year. Kentucky is willing to go on the road for another big-time game. Its tournament of choice is apparently in Cancun, Mexico, with home games to start the event before heading south of the border.
He also talks about Gillispie-gate and Patrick Patterson possibly going pro.
