This may be a UK site, but UofL is our biggest rival. Today there has been more news related to UofL than there has been to UK, and when Tom Jurich says something as asinine as Louisville is a top 10 football program, it deserves to be talked about. #8 . . . I didn’t read anywhere in this post or in the comments that UL wasn’t a Top 10 program BUT UK was a Top 10 program. The argument is simply that it is an absolute joke that UL fans/AD believe that UL is a Top 10 football program. We all know UK has been suffering in football . . . but that’s not the point here . . . STUPID.

The more KSR obsesses over UL, the more credibility we give them. I grew up with rivals like UT, VU, the rest of the SEC, IU and UNC in bball. I always pulled for UL like I would WKU or Morehead St. If UL thinks that, let them think that. Jurich seems to be doing a good job over there. Instead of trying to tear them down, let’s just worry about improving our program.
Easy W for Matt. In addition to pointing out UL’s glaring flaws and line-beard-having fans, he can simply point to 10 programs better, thus defeating Jurich’s argument. I can name 15 off the top of my head.

Obviously in terms of PAY, but beyond what makes it a top 10 job, the pay versus the competition? I guess that’s true, play B+ ball in a C League but get A- money…OK you’re right it is one of the top 10 jobs in the US. But the pay/perq’s don’t make it a Top 10 Program, just a Top 10 job, for coaches…but hey if you like creating a well-paid part-time job, it’s your ticket prices, so knock yourself out.

64 Because we play teams with a chance to win the title… If your program can go undefeated and not even be considered for the Title game, you’re not even a top 25 program. If hell froze over, and UK went undefeated, they would play in the National Championship game, can’t say that about any Big East school, including UL.

And being a top 10 job in Tom’s meaning is not the football program as a whole compared to the elite one’s . The city of louisville as a whole, the state of the university the way Jurich treats his coaches compared to other programs yes louisville is a top job want say top 10 but in Jurichs eyes he feels he has alot to offer an employee. Quality of life all that plays into a job. Sometimes look at things neutral.
Why worry about this comment, even UL fans know it is just hype and untrue. Debating this issue is useless and can only hurt UK and draw attention to UL.

Yeah I agree with #78. There is no way he meant it is a top 10 FOOTBALL job but top 10 job period in all sports. That maybe arguable for him. Look they don’t have the pressure being an urban school. They obviously overpay everyone. Hell, I would rather coach somewhere where mediocre performance gets rewarded then go 9-3 at UT and get fired. Moving to the ACC makes them much more relevant. There is no way he thinks that for football prestige they are. Surely he is not that dumb. I am giving him benefit of doubt here
