Calipari Visited DaJuan Coleman Tuesday

That mug says, “Shut up about Perry and pay attention to me, I’ma beast.”

So, Perry Ellis is going to Kansas.  He’s a great player, but…no big deal.  While I would have trusted Cal’s preference and welcomed Perry had he chosen the Cats, I’ve personally favored other 2012 post players.  Perry is very talented, I’d rather UK nab a couple others. We should forget it, and let Perry go to Kansas as has always been expected of him.  Coach Cal was of a different mind than me, it seems, and tried his hardest to make a late push. In reality, it doesn’t matter because Kentucky IS going to end up with an elite core of 4/5 type guys in this class.  And Coach Cal visited one of them with an in-home last night: DaJuan Coleman.

DaJuan is another kid who has been expected to choose his local school, Syracuse, for a while.  Calipari and crew have shown him nearly as much love as anybody else in the 2012 class.  Reports over the summer surfaced that Coleman may have Ohio State as his leader.  Others stay steadfast in saying he will attend Syracuse.  Still, neither one of these camps is ruling out Kentucky and Cal, and with good reason.  Reasonable minds think the race is about even now between UK, SU, and OSU. With his Ellis love affair over, Calipari is going to be able to make hardcore runs at whatever players he wants, and I contend that Coleman is at the top of that list, along with Shabazz Muhammad.

Kentucky’s 2012 class is going to feature around 6 players, including Archie.  There’s room and playing time available down low.

Here’s the list of other F/C 2012 players UK will pick from:

– Mitch McGary

– Anthony Bennett

– Willie Cauley

– Robert Carter

– Devonta Pollard (SF)

– Alex Poythress (SF)

I’m trying to get Cal to recruit Cauley – I hear he’s a mean tight end. We can use all the help we can get. Has a tight end even caught a pass for us this year? That’s not really fair, hell, our wide receivers don’t even catch balls this year.

Yeah, I’m big around – like Charles Barkley. But Chuck could jump twice as high as I can.

I agree on wantin other players over Ellis. I hope he gets some pf and c with some beef on them. Ellis has continued to drop in rankings while other pf have passed him. But what are our chances with McGary really? I mean he likes Michigan, he has UNC and Duke on his list. Has Cal been after him hard? As for Coleman, he is a big frame that will be hard to move in the SEC. He is the type of center we need. I hope Goodwin is all in his ear come madness, while also bein in the ear of all the other recruits. I’m glad he committed before madness so he can work his magic.

Look UK fans. Some of us just aren’t cut out to play in front of 24,000 people night in and night out. And the pressure of being a UK player is just so crazy. Plus, my mommy is making me go to Kansas.

10 – Is that true. Yes, I’m too lazy to look it up. But, IF TRUE, we should run from DeJuan. Derrick was and is a bum.

all you guys callin Dajuan fat definitely did not see him play in the Boost Mobile game, the kid is a BEEEEAST. He does lose interest against lesser competition and seems lazy, but the kid can really play when it counts. When he is facing up against elite players, he really turns on, I would love to have this kid playing along side Wiltjer in 2012.

You may not like the guy, understandably. But, on the court, Derrick Coleman was no bum. Check the stats.

    14 – Thanks.

13 – “losing interest against lesser competition and seems lazy” – does not seem to fit with what Cal likes. Recall his ‘frustration’ with Jones this year?

16 – Coleman is the #173 career scorer in the NBA. Wouldn’t consider that good considering he was the overall #1 pick coming out of college. Ok, but not as good as you are letting on.

If there’s any truth to the adage that the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, DaJuan will be one hurl of a player. Would love to have him play for KENTUCKY. Wherever the young fella signs, if he is Derrick’s progeny, please make him take some accounting and finance classes and personal accountability type courses. So that the Apple becomes the iMACDaddy!

#6, Big Cuz’ toofeses, I agree; some kind of arse pain annoying technical glitch there for a while. Thought perhaps the ‘root’ cause was related to the live stream of that Perry kid going to KU.

Remember a lot of these young men are still clay…meant to be cleansed and molded by Coach and staff. Don’t cut on these young men, they all are just beginning to mark a direction for their future, it’s got to be difficult at times for them…Even if they don’t choose Kentucky, I still wish them the best (except when they play Big Blue)…Thank all of our Wildcat recruits no matter were you decide, Kentucky appreciates you and Big Blue Fans thank you for the opportunity…We Wildcats just want to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS and get you a job in the NBA.
