Calipari calls Rupp the loudest its been in 4 years

John Calipari asked the Kentucky faithful in Rupp Arena to stay standing for the final 8 minutes of today’s game. The crowd responded by answering his request and creating one of the most rabid Rupp Arena environments I’ve ever seen. Florida went scoreless in the final 7 minutes of the game, all the while the fans were standing and screaming. “We needed the fans to carry us over the finish line and they did. That building was unbelievable. That’s as loud as we’ve been the last four years.” Calipari was impressed and said that today was as loud as he’s ever heard Rupp. Calipari noted the advantage, and looked forward to the Big Blue Mist that will overtake Nashville next week for the SEC tournament.

“The good news is, we don’t have any more road games. Nashville’s been a good home to us.”

The crowd did today just like beating the Gators when they came in #1.

Congrats to the players, coaches and fans. But today’s performance makes you wonder, why haven’t these same players been able to do this, show this effort over the course of the season?

Why did it get to the point of “do or die” before they ‘bought in?’

And time will tell if they turned the corner or not, as a fan I hope so…but honestly I just don’t know.

#3 youth. And youth likes home games but freaks out at away games. As a rule. The mark of this team is they are consistently inconsistent. See youth comment above. The good news is, as cal says, we have no more road games

Why not make it a tradition by having fans stand the last eight minutes of any home game that is close? It could be a huge adavantage.

10, I hear ya bud. We had to replace someone –and that made it sweeter. Granted this changes every 5 minutes now but still.

Taken only from this post. Needs no analysis.

“Calipari calls Rupp the loudest its been in 4 years”
    and then…
“That building was unbelievable. That’s as loud as we’ve been the last four years.”

I suggest writing about the news rather than making it up.

mizzou game was easily louder. throughout the whole game. players were having to tell crowd to quiet down on uk FTs.
if student section doesnt make “stand up” sign after 8 min mark then crowd never even stands for rest of game.
    that said, it was loud.
