For most UK fans, the most frustrating part of this early season has been the continued lack of aggression from Darius Miller, the native Kentuckian and hopeful leader of the team. It turns out UK fans are not the only ones frustrated. Last night after the game, John Calipari addressed his problems with Darius:
“I just want Darius to be one of those guys that everyone in the country talks about because I think he has that ability,” the coach said. “You know how many rebounds he had a halftime? None. Are you kidding me? Why aren’t you going after balls? Just do it. He could be as good as anybody in the country. He can handle it. He can shoot it. He’s a smart kid. He’s got enough athleticism to dunk on you. But there is something in there that’s holding him back. And it’s also keeping us down a little bit.”
We all want Darius to succeed. He is a great kid, an outstanding representative for the Big Blue and is immensely talented. But come on Darius….GET AGGRESSIVE! This team needs it and it cant reach its potential if you dont.
