Calipari being told Knicks job not available

Cal not interested in coaching John Starks

Not that this has really even been an issue this off-season, but if there were any doubts if Calipari would look at the Knicks if that job opened, a NY Post articleshould put those to an end.  Peter Vecsey says that Calipari believes GM Donnie Walsh and Head Coach Mike D’Antoni will be retained for next season.  Cal does admit that those same people told him Lebron would go to New York, but he can only rely on the sources he has, which Vecsey says are WW Wes and Leon Rose.  Now, if those sources are wrong and Walsh and D’Antoni are canned, then the article does not say Calipari would not be interested.  In fact, none of Cal’s quotes say that.  They simply say he doesn’t believe the job will be open.

You would have to think though, we are too far in the summer and Cal has too good a class coming in, for this to become an issue, even if the Knicks came calling.  And as many egos as that team currently has, not real sure why anyone would want that job except for loads of cash.  Which I think Cal already has, correct?  Or did he ever sign his contract?

Cal is just saying its a non-issue because the job isn’t even open. Nothing to worry about. Cal wants a championship before he leaves. Now if we win, then its time to worry, but not until then. But once he wins a NC, I can definitely see him going to the NBA.

Cal isn’t gonna hire his buddy Chris Woolard away from C-USA, and have him relocate from Texas to Lexington, just to leave for another job. Not gonna happen.

No rules against what Cal is doing this summer with the Dominican National team, but the NCAA will proba come up with some new rules just because of Cal.

Odd, most people do not know the details of jobs they DON’T want. We never thought Pitino would leave. Don’t assume other people think like you. There is no way of knowing what Cal would see in that job, but he may see something.

I sure hope bti only has a memorandum of understanding with KSR, this post was “non-sensical”, to quote the great Ed rall.

#4 I agree completely. Cal isn’t leaving now, but the same ego that helped him land the UK job, will eventually lead him back to the NBA… I just hope it’s after he brings a few banners to Lexington

Everyone knows Cal always leaves his answers “open”. He wont confirm or deny if there aren’t facts to prove it. Get used to it guys and gals. People said when Cal and UK joined forces then the rest of college basketball was in for a ride and now our compitition wants to see the marriage made in heaven broken up

That was spooky considering I couldn’t see that comment 13 was already a question mark.

Cal had a good class coming in at Memphis. Didn’t stop him from leaving for UK.
