John Calipari spent the last month telling us his team isn’t going to be very good in November. We’ve heard it at least 100 times. “We won’t be good in November, but wait ’til you see us in March.” He’s even suggested that Kentucky could lose to Maryland and Duke to start the season. “We could easily start off 0-2,” he says.
But after tonight’s win over Northwood (the Florida one), Cal’s expectations for the first two regular season games might be a little higher.
“We’re still not what we need to be,” he said to open the postgame press conference. “But we’re better than I thought we’d be.”
So that means Kentucky will beat Maryland and Duke?
