Cal went to see Tyus Jones last night

While you were sleeping (or fretting over the coaching search), John Calipari took a little trip to watch 2014 PG Tyus Jones in action, a source tells Adam Zagoria. Jones, considered by many to be the top point guard in the country regardless of class, wrote on his USA Today HS blog last week that he had recently spoken to Cal and was ready to schedule a visit to Kentucky soon. He’s considering Baylor, Duke, North Carolina, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Kansas and Kentucky.
Watch him work:

better than A. Harrison?
No way he’s better than Harrison. Harrison would physically dominate this little guy. He does look really good though. Nothing too flashy. Just makes the right plays.
looks like the Howard Pulley Panthers have him sewn up. Dammit all
listed at 6′ and 175 #s … jr in hs this year and the same size as harrow … this kid could be really good if he’ll put in the time to put on some weight … harrow is in his 3rd year in college and still only 170
really? better than harrison? I had not heard he was this good. does not matter much as you can just look at him and see Duke written all over him. He probably has a hot mom also.
Cal went all that way to let him know the pink sneaks will have to go.
top PG regardless of class… so he’s better than Andrew Harrison? come on.
Reminds me of Austin Rivers, not as college ready as Harrison maybe a better shooter but also pushes off in the lane to get a shot. Hate to say it but he looks like a Puke player and Ratface will sell him on being the next Rivers and shoot every play. I hope Cal can use his magic and get him to UK.
MY observation is that there is NOTHING that stands out about his game. And he doesn’t have the physical qualities to impose himself on offense or defense.
My advice is to proceed with caution.
I’m assuming that this guy is a lights-out shooter. I mean, he’s not particularly great with dribbling, nothing unusually good about his passing ability, not particularly quick, etc., etc.
He must have something he’s great at doing, what is it?
Honestly, he looks quite average based on this tape. I’ll blame it on the tape and not him. I’m sure he’s good, we just can’t see it on this tape.
Looks like a smaller Austin Rivers. Has a nice pullup jumper.
I dont like him. He will get crammed on
Wake up people. Kid is way better than you think. A lot like Kyrie Irving actually. Also likely going to same school as jahlil Okafor.
Yes!!! Basketball posts make me happy….
Thank God for Rivers and the Curry brothers so white folks have someone they can compare up and coming children from interracial marriages to!
If you watch the Wiggins video following the Tyus Jones, Wiggins crams TJ within the first 30 seconds. The, he swats Julius Randle twice and his teammates several more times. Wiggins is a beast and TJones is small. But we’ll take him! He’ll probably be one of the top 5 PGs in the country. The Harrisons are going to spoil us big time, particularly if Wiggins comes.
#14 – I only think racially when idiots like you try to make a point of it. If you truly care about racial issues, quit bringing it up.
Here’s the Wiggins vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRxaHP4f9d8
and the Tyus Jones block is the 2nd play
So Jones over Mudiay?
He kinda looks like this kid. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2624602/
Chris Paul 2.0. Nothing physically dominant, but absolutely off-the-charts basketball IQ, makes everyone around him better, ultimate team player, unselfish, and has no weaknesses to his game other than size.
Looks like cross between CP3 ans DWill…not super athletic but does everything right plus the solid looking jumper.
