Cal Still Not Concerned With 500 Wins

kige-and-calWhat happens in Bowling Green stays in Bowling Green…

John Calipari is in Bowling Green today for one of his satellite camps and he was kind enough to take a little time for media members not named Andy Katz. It was during that time that Calipari gave the NCAA an “oh shut up” by telling those gathered that he “could care less” (someone is going to zing you in the comments section, Cal) about his 500 wins. In fact, Cal says he didn’t even know what was going on when someone tossed him a ball after the game. The NCAA is currently looking for that person, who will be beheaded in downtown Indianapolis after a short and unfair trial.

Cal even went a little furter in poking at the bumbling beast when downplaying concerns that Darius Miller might be pushed aside by a loaded recruiting class. Cal pointed out that he has the experience of an Elite Eight and a Final Four. He then added, “”He’s won 65 or 64 games – we’ll have to call the NCAA and check that number.”

Boom!  Roasted!  Suck on that, Dennis Thomas!

I’m less troubled by Cal’s use of the expression “could care less” than I am by Beisner’s lack of proofreading so as to recognize that he failed to close off his parenthetical. Audrey, that’s bush. That’s bush league.

Yea, right. Coach Cal wasn’t aware. Does he ever say something believable?

I was at the father son camp this weekend and saw the pickup games with the freshmen. they all look good, but this team belongs to Miller, Lamb and Jones. You can tell they are in charge and the other players look for them. Miller not gonna be pushed aside. Davis is still raw offensively, the others look really good. Fellas we are loaded but this team will be lead by the three returning players.

Wait til you see Harrow next year. He can ball

Anybody know how Hood is looking in the pickup games? I am hoping Darius will dominate this year and Hood will break out.

people who think miller will be pushed aside are kidding themselves. he is a very efficient offensive player. he is a significantly better shooter than gilchrist. as the unquestioned leader of this team going into the season, i dont think we will see disappearious at all next season. i still am sad that we wont have liggins next year, but if lamb and gilchrist can duplicate that fire on defense, we will have more than enough power on offense without him.

Update…Tipton is currently calling the NCAA to alert them to potential violations from The Brown Eye’s camp player rundown. Plus…one player was seen eating a sandwich….did he pay for it?

    12) Right on the money- Darius is a match-up nightmare for everyone. We saw that a lot last year when he took his defender to the post on one possession, and then knocked down a three-pointer a couple possessions later. IMO his athleticism is extremely underestimated. He’s a tenacious defender who blocks shots, and he can score from anywhere on the court. The knock on #1 has always been his dissppearing act, which is not unfounded. But I just don’t believe there’s anyone on this team who’s more important to their success than D. Miller. He’s about to show BBN what he can do wire-to-wire, and I believe he will get drafted in the first round if he plays up to his abilities.

Classic….Whether he was or not aware of it, the 42 seconds of the clip revealed three things. One he was not enamored by it and, second all you could do is see him wave to the crowd, shake Mitch’s hand and mouth the words thanks

one of the assistants did say beforehand that you can take pictures but please “don’t post them on facebook or KSR”. nice props Beez.

I did not see Hood do much. I saw Eloy get swatted by Davis a few times.

    C Davis
    PF Jones
    SF Miller
    SG Lamb
    PG Teague

then Gilchrist comes in depending on who needs to be subbed for fouls or for an energy boost. then Wiltjer, Eloy, Beckham, Hood and Poole in that order and i think they will all play limited minutes. Much like last year, our top 6 are gonna get the bulk of the minutes.

Granted it was one hour of pickup games. but that’s what i saw

    16) That would be okay if you want to give the opposition 35-40 minutes without a true big body on the court. Davis will be able to block shots, but dude’s a bean pole. So is Wiltjer. As bad as you might hate this, you’d better put Eloy ahead of Wiltjer on your depth chart. And since UK passed, or got passed-over by T. Woods, we should all get used to the idea that Eloy is the 6th or 7th man off the bench this year, and he’ll get at least 10-15 minutes in most games.

Good one Coach Cal – LMAO!

One good thing is the next 500 celebration. Now that will be a party! Maybe in the likes of UK2K! Oh and how the butt-holes will pucker in Indianapolis! Hopefully that will come on NCAA tourney championship night!

I am glad Cal cleared things up concerning Darius Miller. A lot of KSR faithful assumed Miller would be shunned to the bench never to be heard from again but there was no way a two year starter was going to be displaced by a Freshman. Especially a guy that started on an Elite 8 and Final Four team. No way that was going to happen and the choice was always between Teague and Gilchrist

The NCAA is inconsistent in their rullings and everyone knows this. They stumble over their own feet as a matter of course. By singling out UK over this issue they are serving notice to everyone that they are the power in college athletics and their rullings are not to be flaunted. UK was the most high proflile school to defy them so the line in the sand was drawn here. I’m sure they think its unfortunate to have KY. as their adversary in this matter but such is life. I don’t think they are singling out KY>
    GO CATS!!!

Agree with 10)…I was at the Father and Son Camp this weekend as well and D. Miller was the clear leader of the team. Best player on the court, however, was Ryan Harrow who has unbelievable hops and had several dunks that would have won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest! We are LOADED!
