Last night during his postgame show, John Calipari may have ruffled some fans’ feathers with this quote about the Kentucky/Louisville rivalry:
“You people and the Louisville fans make too big a deal out of this game. There weren’t 57 Kentucky players out on the floor. We both have kids from all over and it’s not as big a deal for them. They’re not even in our league. But it is a big deal when you win.”
I can understand Cal downplaying the importance of the game to his players to alleviate pressure and expectations, but chiding the fan base about the rivalry is something different altogether. What do you make of Cal’s comments?
