Cal, Noel, and Poythress Talk it Out at the Post-Game Press Conference

Ally mentioned a lot of quotes from the press conference in her night post, but now you can check out almost eight-minutes worth on CoachCal.com.
Some highlights:
“We’re still trying to figure out our team. … We didn’t play that bad.”
“They only had eight turnovers and made a couple threes we didn’t make.”
“The only guy I needed to get in there more was Willie.”
On Poythress: “He’s gotta be a beast. Go dunk on somebody.”
Say what you will about Cal. When his teams win, he dogs his players to play harder. Points out mistakes they made that they can improve on. But when they lose, he shoulders the responsibility. He never throws anyone under the bus. We’re seeing a lot of that today. Practice might be a different story, but to all the fans, all the media, he’s on his players’ side.
Respect.

First, much of the chatter this morning is about John Calipari’s petulance. That’s old news. That’s Kentucky’s problem and no one else’s. You ignore the people that chirp and you pay attention to the guys that do their job, and the guys that do their job did it well last night in defeating the latest free agents from Kentucky. Calipari’s puerile antics must not distract—well, any further—from Duke’s terrific team win over an otherwise impressive WWWildcat team.
“But when they lose, he shoulders the responsibility” — like blaming the refs and Duke for flopping?
I love UK websites! Wow my life sucks.
UK’s got to be smarter playing Wiltjer. He’s not a big time rebounder; he’s not out there for defense–for him to only have taken 5 shots in 32 minutes is a huge waste.
Wiltjer reminds me a lot of more skilled version of Steve Novak on the Knicks. The sole reason to have him in the game is to put points on the board and spread the offense, and when UK was having trouble being aggressive in this game driving to the basket, I feel like they’ve got to be setting some plays up for Wiltjer to get some shots off.
Looks like Kentucky’s
humiliation by Duke has cost them the Harrison twins.
Haters and Cardz – The pressure is on. Can your team win it all this year? Or will the curse of Pitino strike again?
Yes I am trolling but it feels great! Outplayed, outcoaches, outclassed by the Dukies of all people lol.
And yes, the pressure is on us but I think we cut the nets down this year. #L1C4
So much ENVY from rival fans on this site. I love it.
To Matt, Tyler & Drew…
The comments section is becoming very tough to read. Out of like 7 comments, more than half are nothing but “baiting”. Any way we clean it up? Look at past 5 posts and the comments..50%+ is nothing but baiting, with no fun or whit in them.
7- No, you won’t be cutting down the nets “this year”. 100% certain of that.
Was 1986 or 1886 when you last won a title?
Cardz) Any fan associated with Pitino isn’t allowed to comment on “class”. You do realize what your coach did right? Also, did you know that UL is downwind of Rubbertown? This means that being a UL student/player/fan actually means you will probably die early.
11- it’s a card fan defense mechanism. They have nothing good about their team, so in order to deal with the fact they haven’t won a championship since Ronald Reagan was in office, they have to deflect.
Defense mechanism + Deflection= typical card fan.
Matt, why is I-tunes so slow in posting KSR podcasts? They show up on I-tunes app before the online version? Just curious.
can’t wait for december 29. the Cats will have 9 more games under their belt and the big blue machine will be gaining speed and momentum. careless birds will be sucked into the intake
How’s Coach K ass taste?
15 Cal has beaten Pitino 4 times in a row…if you want to know how a man’s ass tastes, ask Ricky…he’s had more than 15 seconds to find out.
I’m so stupid I thought saying Duke flops a lot is the same as saying the refs are blowing this game for us. L1C4 L yeah we dumb!
