Cal looking at another 2014 point guard, Tyler Ulis

spt-1227-mcdipper

Just when you thought the 2014 point guard situation couldn’t get any murkier, here comes Adam Zagoria with word that the Cats are taking a look at Tyler Ulis, a 5’8″ PG from Chicago. Ulis, Rivals’ 49th best player in the 2014 class, has offers from Michigan State, Florida State, Northwestern, Purdue, DePaul, Iowa and USC. His father told Zagoria that Cal hasn’t extended an offer, but the family plans to visit UK.

So far, if you’re keeping track, Kentucky has already offered Tyus Jones and Emmanuel Mudiay, and expressed interest in Josh Perkins, who is waiting for an offer.

Here’s some video of the pint-sized point guard doing work:

Absolutely not. If we don’t get Mudiay we are pretty much sunk for 14-15 season.

Maybe he is recruiting him for a little depth and not necessarily to be the main guy. Depth never hurt anybody

He’s got moves better than Harrow. Nice J with him as well.. Not that it’s really important but can he throw it down?

He’s an AAU teammate of Charles Matthews so it helps on that end.

    #4 Hawkins is our depth.

Seems like there is a taller, higher rated point guard out there that may have re-opened his recruitment. Kinda interesting that the first call this guard received was from the son of the coach he was committed to. Maybe the recruitment of this kid would infuriate the coach he was committed to. A coach that doesn’t get along very well with Cal. Would be like a knife to the ribs.

This kid torched Tyus Jones for 22 pts and 17 assists. He’s not Ran Harrow he has great court vision and actually facilitates an offense. Makes up for size with a great floater and solid shooting from everywhere. He impressed everyone this summer at all events especially the recruiting Mecca known as Peach Jam. Don’t scoff at him.

I LOVE this kid. He’s already my favorite in the 2014 Class and it doesn’t even matter if he comes to KentuckY but I really, really hope he does.
