Cal calls Cats’ win in OT “a heck of a thing”

Cal said that despite letting the lead slip away and causing several UK fans to have panic attacks, the Cats winning on the road in overtime is nothing to sniff at: “To win on the road in overtime like we did, and have all those young guys playing, it’s a heck of a thing now.

In fact, the Cats have won four games on the road in the SEC, which is no easy feat: “I just don’t know the last time a team this young … wins four road games in their league out of their first five road games.”

At 6-2, Kentucky is tied for second in the SEC behind Florida. Right now, I’m going to shelve the ugliness and focus on that.

Harrow and Wiltjer combined for more TOs than their whole team. Dumbest team I have ever seen

The last two quotes on this page sums up everything about Ryan Harrow.

Everyone needs to calm down. These kids are getting better, While they are not each going to have outer-body performances each game (like Nerlens against Ole Miss), it is imperative to note that these kids fought through adversity and found a way to win this game. A couple of weeks ago, this team would have found a way to lose this one. Also, I am sick of the “UK still has to play Florida twice.” To hell with that. We are the defending National Champions. We “get” to play Florida twice; Florida “has” to play UK twice. GO GATS!

This team showed they the can pull it out in adversity. They didn’t give up! I’ll take that any day.

I don’t know if Texas A&M just matches up real well against us or what, but I’ll take that win. This was the first overtime game we’ve played this year, and our guys did well. Now, let’s keep winning.

UK will finish either at 2 or 3 in the SEC and they will play in the final game against Florida. They will be in the NCAA tourney with a 5 or 6 seed, probably a 6. They will win 2 games in the NCAA tourney. Count on it.

Great win…on the road, in conference you have to tough it out and get on the bus. A gritty win by a young team

6, the first poster is dead on right. This team is stupid from a bball IQ. Doesn’t take a genius to see that. So quit being a dick. We had 2 players with more turnovers than their whole team

I think everyone needs to remember these are kids. Myself included. Harrow hangs his head when the game is close and just can’t get it together. Poythress just seems to not know whether to go or stop. And Archie get pretty down on himself if things aren’t going 100% his/our way. We put too much pressure on these kids and that just adds to the pressure they put on themselves. We recruit pro players and they know if they have a bad year they might not get to the NBA, because there’s not many that can stay due to the freshman that will be coming in to take their spot. This is more to badketball to all of us in the BBN, but it would be nice if the kids would just look at it as a basketball game and have fun. The rest will take care of itself. It’s hard to watch this team a lot of the time, but I still get excited to watch them every game and hope they all do well and will always root for them win or loss. So those of you posting about wanting football season to get here, I have one suggestion: quit watching the UK basketball games and wait for football season. These kids do as well as they can every game and need to be supported, not kicked to the curb. Get your mind right BBN. A long season remaining. Get behind this team!

I like how this team won. Was it ugly? Sure it was. However, this new, young team learned what it took to win in OT in a hostile enviroment. They learned yet another lesson and did it without losing like they have in the past when they didn’t play their best game. I, for one, am encouraged.

They certainly have some more work to do and they are getting better. I just wish they would get better a little quicker. The Florida games will be a better indication of where this team is. This team may be more like the Brandon Knight team that couldn’t win a road game until until the end of the year but figured it out at the end of the year. This year’s team has talent but some guys need to pick it up going forward.

They’ve won more on the road than Brandon Knight and company so far. I am pleased.
