Bud Dupree and Avery Williamson named Third Team Preseason All-SEC

avery-bud

Congrats to senior linebacker Avery Williamson and junior defensive end Bud Dupree, who were voted Third-Team Preseason All-SEC by the league’s coaches.

Last season, Dupree finished in the top 10 in the SEC in tackles (91), quarterback sacks (6.5) and tackles-for-loss (12.5) and started all 12 games. Williamson had his best season as a Cat last year, with 135 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, three sacks, four pass breakups, two fumbles caused, one fumble recovery and an interception. He also had a streak of four games with a least 13 tackles, becoming the first Wildcat to do so since Randy Holleran in 1990.

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is 2nd team and the defending National Champ QB is 3rd team? Yes, SEC is a tough league.

Better to be 3rd team SEC than first team AAC.
