John Hammond, General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucks, is more than satisfied with his team’s latest move. If you’re unfamiliar, Brandon Knight was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier in the week. Some people around the league, mainly in Detroit, questioned whether or not Knight was fit to play the point guard position over a more natural shooting guard role. Hammond, however, was not one of those people who thought that Knight would be a better fit as a shooting guard.
Let’s make it perfectly clear. He’s a starting point guard in the NBA. He still has tremendous growth ahead after two solid years in the NBA. He’s a future building block to the organization because of the kind of player and person he is.
If we’re being honest, that was pretty much the only thing Hammond could say about Knight. After all, you’re not going to bad mouth an acquisition. However, it is good to see that Knight has supporters behind him in the league. The article, where Hammond is quoted, can be found here.
