As several have mentioned since the game on Saturday, I think that the Cats’ most recent loss really begins to put the pressure on in terms of making the NCAA tournamant. Who could have imagined that at the beginning of the season? So lets take a look at what the Cats need. With a relatively strong non-conference schedule and two quality wins (Louisville and West Virginia), not to mention the history of Kentucky basketball, I think 8 and 8 in the conference will get them in. Kentucky has done itself no favors with two home losses to fairly mediocre opponents at home to start the season. They now need to go 8 and 6 the rest of the way with two games remaining with Florida and Tennessee as well as dates with LSU and Arkansas. The SEC only has one elite team, but the conference is much better top to bottom this year than the last couple. The Cats will have to get the defense dialed up quickly or the NIT may await.
