Smurfs will get beat down by WKU. Petrino loves killing the cats and will make an example of them.

If memory serves me right, I sat in Commonwealth Stadium and watch the Cats comeback on Mr. Bobby Petrino’s Razerbacks and the Cats won that game! Not much of a “beat down” going on there Mr. Smurfs!

The cats have no defense and Petrino will craft a plan to pick them apart. Quit living in the past and wake up to reality. If your cats win 3 games this year, break out the champagne.

As bad as UK was last year (and I mean really realy bad) WKU had to go to overtime and win on a trick play. That was WKU’s best team in years and UK’s worst team since the Curry days. Petrino won’t be looking across the field and seeing Joker on the other side. He will be seeing a completely differennt offensive and defensive mindset. Things are differennt in Lexington and EZ Rider Bobby is going to see it up close and personal.

Yes, last year we were horrible. But we also had a completely incompetent coach. Last year WKU’s competence (despite lack of talent) beat us. You no longer have any edge.

I will be the first to admit that UK will not be great this year. However, we will not be as bad as last year either. The cards will have to fall right for WKU to win but this will be the last year they even have a chance. Our talent level is about to spike and Petrino will not stick around Bowling Green either. I commend Smurfs for talking shiz while he can…his window is small.

The Smurfs are holding tryouts for WR. Tell your drunk uncle to clean up his cleats and strap on the pads. No chance of keeping pace with a Petrino offense. Petrino has brought in some talent this year and it will look like a Petrino brand out on the field. The Smurfs will still look like Jokers punchline from last year.

Stoops must be serving up some mean kool aid! Mark it down, Smurf fans, this year will be no better than last year. Your new coaches have nothing to work with and can’t suit up for you either. Petrino rides off into the Nashville night with a W, 42-7.

I love having little brother syndrome. I worry about Kentucky more than my own team. I get on KSR every morning to see what big brother is doing. I was one of the many that chanted F UK after my team won the championship. Yes, that’s right, I was worried about big brother after my team won.
Smurf just realize with your Jorts and tats. No matter what any team in the state accomplishes. They will always be little brother. We will have a better d this year.

Smurfs is smurfing delusional. That 90th ranked recruiting class isn’t exactly the type of talent that I’m going to be scared of. UK has 4 returning WR’s, plus the 3 star freshmen and JUCO transfer. Part of the 29th ranked class. Louisville finished 52, btw. That gives us 8 WR’s, plus our tight ends. That’s thin, but tryouts would be for depth in case of injuries and practice. So lets not talk like Road Rash has brought in some sort of smurfy class to make any sort of major improvements to his personnel. It’s still Western, and without them playing UK the last few years, the rest of the country still wouldn’t even know they had a football team. The best they can hope for is that their DB coach (and I don’t mean defensive back) has a good year and gets out before he trashes their program and jumps ship like he has every other job he has ever had. I’m so glad UK didn’t hire him, and I really want to see MATT JONES get an interview with him and ask about UK’s fans being split with half wanting him hired, and half hating him and him being the last person we wanted…

Smurfs don’t even realize how dumb you sound. We got beat by a Sun Belt team on a trick play. The same stupid defense that let that happen is the same stupid defense Poops will put on the field this year. Petrino won’t need trick plays this year, just all-out offensive power to destroy the Smurfs hopes and dreams.

Smurfs, just because you barely beat UK doesn’t mean your team will ever be relevant. Let’s get real here, WKU is just a small college where kids that couldn’t get accepted to UK end up enrolling.

WKU has a great chance to win. Demarcus Smith was an Elite 11 qb and may earn the starting job for the tops in the fall. Elite 11 just like precious Drew Barker. Antonio Andrews and Michael Dyer from Auburn could possibly be the two rbs behind an experience offensive line. Defensively, WKU has Jonathon Downing at safety who was a former top 20 recruit and started his career at Florida. Also Andrew Jackson lead the Sun Belt in tackles at linebacker. WKU is picked first in the Sun Belt by several preseason magazines compared to UK picked last in the SEC with a coaching transition. Last SEC teams were upset by Sun Belt teams on a couple occasions and many other close games. Last years game was dominated by WKU for 3 quarters. I see Bobby Petrino improving his record against Kentucky to 5-1. UK struggles in their first games running the “air raid” and fall to the TOPS 31-21.

#29–not really. WKU last time I checked had more undergraduate students on campus than UK. It has a much nicer, newer campus than UK, and its academic standing is not far behind UK in terms of student SAT/ACT scores, etc. WKU is now light years ahead of the other “regional” schools in the state and one of the main reasons is the current president of WKU, Dr. Gary Ransdell. He is a true leader and has done wonders for the development of WKU. For anyone not familiar with WKU (or if you haven’t been there in awhile) you need to go and take a look. You will be amazed.

Disclaimer: I did not attend WKU (Duke undergraduate degree and UK graduate degree).

@30 Your an idiot. Michael Dyer isn’t at WKU, nor will he be. It’s either Troy or stay at ARKANSAS BAPTIST COLLEGE and wait for the draft. Fact check please.

And @29 As a UK fan and WKU student. I resent your comment. Can’t help it my parents couldn’t afford to get me into UK. Nor did I want to lease my life out to Student Loans. I was however accepted to UK, along with Illinois, Georgia, and WKU. I chose to stay home. Unlike you 29 who probably spent a whole semester at some podunk KCTCS school.

Brandon Doughty and DaMarcus Smith split snaps in practice in the spring and Doughty played better in the spring game. It is not set in stone at all that Doughty will start against UK first game. Competition in fall practice will be the final test between the two. Why would you say he has named a starter??? Guess you make up your own news

additionally, my comment was Demarcus Smith may earn the starting job! So read what I said before you hate. The fact that he might not win the job is just evidence of the overall talent at WKU.

Being a cat fan and a HS football coach, in my opinion the only reason that game ever even went into overtime is because Taggart started playing it safe. With a 17-0 lead he started trying to melt the clock and control the ball too much. If Petrino jumps out to a 17-0 lead, don’t expect him to let off the gas like that. He will hang a hundo on us if at all possible. We are certainly better than last year, but you have to remember a few things..

    a) we know Stoops can recruit but can he coach? He is untested as a head coach in high pressure situations. (i.e if we fall behind early does he tuck his tail between his legs or does he fight his way out of a corner?)
    b) his recruits aren’t going to have a major impact this year so our team isn’t that different from last year, and as I’ve read on here multiple times, last years team was on of the worst UK football teams EVER!
    c) love him or hate him Petrino is the real deal as a coach. His moral compass may point directly towards Hell’s gates, but he can flat out coach.
    d) because many UK fans still view WKU as “lil ol’ western” many WKU fans and players DESPISE UK and would trade their first born for another victory this year. They will be coming after us with everything they got and aren’t gonna give up easily in Nashville.

I still think this game is winnable, and I hope ol’ Stoops can start his head coaching career on the right path, but you are a very foolish and senile fan if you think that this game is a gimme win that WKU has no chance at taking from us.

You make some very good points, brother. But, don’t forget that of Western’s first 17 points, 10 came after 2 of the 4 INTs that Max Smith threw that night, including a WKU scoring drive that started at the Kentucky 2 yard line.

Even with the 4 INTs, Kentucky still had 50 more Total Yards than Western; and, 7 more First Downs. Yes, Kentucky was bad last season. But, Western was no “juggernaut”. They finished at 7-5, and 4-4 in the Sun Belt. And yes, Petrino is one heck of a coach! But, let’s not pretend he has the talent in Bowling Green that he had at Louisville or Arkansas.

Although I don’t look for Kentucky to have a winning record due to the difficulty of the schedule, I do believe they will be improved over last year. If that abysmal Kentucky offense of last year could put up 31 points on Western’s defense, imagine what a wide-open offense like the Air Raid might be capable of doing. Like one of the other posters said, it took OT, and a trick play for Western to beat us last season.

I look for a tight contest for most of the game; but, look for Kentucky to pull away in the 4th quarter. I’m thinking maybe a 7 to 10 point win. Kentucky has better talent than what we saw last season; and, I believe that talent is better than Western’s.

Guess we’ll find out in a little less than 2 months now!

#43 I agree, definitely gonna be tight, I just hope that they do come out with a W. Biggest thing for us is limiting the turnovers and stopping that RB they have. He is like 90% of their offense.

and #44, you’re an idiot and a delusional UK fan. One of the “fans” that makes everyone who is not a part of BBN despise us. I am looking forward to a major improvement in football over the next few years and hoping to be a little better season this year, but you are in complete denial if you think that there isn’t at least a 50/50 shot of us going down to Nashville and leaving with a loss! Petrino is a good coach, and they are returning a lot of starters including their star RB, and the same defensive backfield that caused 4 picks last year.
