If you are new to this site, you need to read our motto at the top of the site, which says our goal is to bring you UK news in the most ridiculous manner possible. So, in that theme, I thought it only appropriate to make my comments about that ridiculous game last night in the most ridiculous way I could think of.
–It is RIDICULOUS this game was scheduled like it was in the first place. Don’t tell me fans are supposed to show up in another state during the work week at 9PM for an opponent from the Sun Belt. It doesn’t make you a bad fan if you didn’t show, it makes you a freaking working person.
–It is RIDICULOUS that was the flat performance Kentucky put on. What were you preparing for all summer Cats players? You have practice hard (or so we hope) in the heat, and then when it comes to time to play, you come out uninterested?
–It is RIDICULOUS that the strength of the offense, the offensive line, was pushed around by WKU. If you are not the strength, then the offense can never succeed. And if the Sun Belt’s worst team did that, imagine what LSU is gonna do. Or Louisville.
–It is RIDICULOUS that Morgan Newton continues to make poor decisions with his throws. YOU ARE A JUNIOR! A junior who has started almost 10 games in your career.
–It is RIDICULOUS that Joker and Co. said Newton was a whole new quarterback. If by “whole new quarterback”, you meant the “exact same quarterback”, then I might have just misunderstood. What is clear is that Joker and Co. knew what they had and tried to pull the wool over the fans eyes. Consider that myth debunked.
–It is RIDICULOUS that the play-calling is that conservative. Consider this stat: Kentucky used a rushing play on the first play of a drive in 12 of 14 drives last night. That includes EVERY SINGLE DRIVE in the 2nd half. When you have absolutely no variety in your playcalling, even average teams like WKU eat that up. By the way, those 12 rushing attempts when for a big ‘ol 14 yards. Well done.
–It is RIDICULOUS fans think Ryan Mossakowski would have been the answer. Look here fans, Ryan Mossakowski had 2 years to try and surpass Morgan Newton on the depth chart. He didn’t. Plus he had a bum shoulder. It’s always easy to act like the guy we never saw was going to be great. Remember he was a 4-star QB. You know who else was a 4-star? Newton. Mossakowski had a shot. It was called practice.
–It is RIDICULOUS that the late hits continue to happen. In Game 1 of his career, Ridge Wilson had a severe late hit against Louisville. In Game 14 of his career, he has another late hit. That is a mental, concentration, and discipline problem. Not to mention there were 3 (by my count) other instances where UK could have been flagged for late hits.
-But most of all, it is RIDICULOUS that as a fan in Year 2 of the Joker era, I feel like we are back to Year 1 of the Rich Brooks era. I hope I am wrong, but what was built up by Brooks seems to be flaking away.
