BTI’s Rants and Ramblings: Cats Bounce Back Strong Under Calipari

Among the many accolades of the first 2 years of the Calipari era, such as the draft picks and home court winning streak, another one that I have noticed is the ability of Cal’s team to bounce back well after losses.  Excluding the West Virginia loss, because it ended a season, UK has won all 6 times following a loss during Calipari’s time in Lexington.  And it every case, the Cats have been able to hammer opponents, by an average of 18 ppg.  The South Carolina win on Saturday was the first time UK had not rebounded from a loss with a double digit win.

So, just another example of people who want to question Cal’s “coaching” ability.  In my opinion, it takes a special coach to get his team back on track, emotionally and on the court.  For some teams, once the ball gets rolling on losing, coaches have been unable to stop the losing.  In Cal’s case, he has been able to kick the losing “streak” at one each time.

All the previous games after a loss were home games thus the margin of victory increases vs road games. Had a 17 point lead with 5 min left but went to 5 with 1+ minutes left.

    2) The Georgia game was a road game and the Notre Dame game was a “neutral” site game.

#4 – interesting. Of course BCG finished out his last 11 SEC games 3-8 for a 2 year SEC record of 20-12. And after 2 years of non-conference games, Cal is 27-2 and Clyde was 17-11.

    5) Be thankful we have a site like this to come to at ALL! Shoot back in the late 70s althrough the 80s 90s and 2000, the only time you’d hear anything was at 7pm on WHAS to hear Van Vance’s slant on sports……PERIOD!
