Bryan the Intern’s Picks to Click

How do women find Shaun White hot?  Seriously!

It has been the trendy pick, even amongst UK fans, to say that Vandy will win this weekend in Nashville.  And there are reasons to like the Dores, most obviously that Memorial Gym has not been kind to the Cats, or any SEC opponent recently.  But, the more I look at this game, the more I think the Cats should and will win it on Saturday.  The answer is pretty simple: Demarcus Cousins.

Who does Vandy have that can combat Cousins?  There really isn’t a team in the country that can defend the big man one-on-one, but where Vandy is different is they have an unwarranted belief that AJ Ogilvy can.  Most teams concede that Cousins is great, and double team him at all times, but Vandy likely will not.  They didn’t the first go round, when Cousins whipped Ogilvy and other Vandy big men up and down the floor.

But, what only strengthens my argument is that Cousins seems to bring it even harder against more highly hyped big men like Ogilvy.  For instance:

January 2nd (Louisville)
Demarcus Cousins: 18 pts., 18 reb.
Samardo Samuels: 9 pts., 9 reb.

January 23rd (Arkansas)
Demarcus Cousins: 16 pts., 14 reb.
Michael Washington: 11 pts., 5 reb.

January 30th (Vanderbilt)
Demarcus Cousins: 21 pts., 10 reb.
AJ Ogilvy: 12 pts., 4 reb.

February 9th (Alabama)
Demarcus Cousins: 16 pts., 13 reb.
Jamychal Green: 11 pts., 6 reb.

February 16th (Mississippi State)
Demarcus Cousins: 19 pts., 14 reb.
Jarvis Varnado: 10 pts, 5 reb.

Time and again, when faced with another skilled big man, Cousins has stepped his game up and dominated.  I expect nothing less tomorrow, and I see a Cats win, 79-65.

1) Just like women do, you give them some good skis and they all go and crash.  Danica Patrick taught them well.

2) A funny, yet sad story that has been making its way through all the blogs of an old man in San Francisco, who was tased last year at an Oakland A’s game, and now a new video is out of him beating the living crap out of a guy who was bothering him on a bus (NSFW).  Anyway, it seems the guy may be crazy.  Actually, after watching the video, there is no doubt the guy is crazy.

3) Hey, pitchers and catchers are reporting!  Yeah, even an exclamation point doesn’t make that sound anymore interesting.  But, just in case you are that interested in pre-spring training baseball, here are some preseason rankings.

4) Despite having the worst Olympics TV coverage in history, considering everything is basically on tape-delay, NBC still couldn’t avoid the profanity laced conversation between Shaun White and his coach a couple nights ago.
