University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Which Meeks performance was better?

A really heated argument ensued between me and Beisner and Beisner’s mom yesterday about which performance was better:  Meeks’ 54 against Tennessee or Meeks’ 45 against Arkansas.

Compare the 2 stat lines:

vs Tennessee: 15-22 FG, 10-15 3PG, 14-14 FT, 8 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO, 54 points

vs Arkansas:   17-24 FG, 7-12 3PG, 4-7 FT, 7 REB, 2 AST, 3 STL, 3 TO, 45 points

Now, I think we can comfortably say that both performances were remarkable.  I would only say Prince’s 41 in the NCAA Tournament and Prince against North Carolina can compare over the last decade.  But, after watching the game on Saturday, I actually thought Jodie had a better offensive game against Arkansas.  Hear me out.

First, if you take out free throws, Jodie scored 40 against Tennessee and 41 against Arkansas.  And free throws are important, I get that.  But, Jodie can’t help it that the refs didn’t blow the whistle as much against the Hogs.

Second, I thought Jodie created his shots more against Arkansas, where against Tennessee he was basically just pulling up and shooting alot. I thought Arkansas contested Meeks’ shots better than UT did, yet Jodie shot a better percentage Saturday.

And last, Jodie did this without Patrick Patterson.  Despite the fact that Arkansas still let him score 45, they had to have a game plan Meeks.  THEY JUST HAD TO, OR PELPHREY IS PITIFUL.

I don’t think anybody can actually lose this argument because both games were masterpieces.  But, it was just a simple question brought up by a drunk Mrs. Beisner and this ensued.  So blame her and her Rays fan son for any fights that may happen.
