Bryan the Intern’s Picks to Click

God, I love the UK Statistics Project.  It’s where I go for all my historical info and I found so many good nuggets, I had to share a few:

-Despite being the highest NBA draft pick in history, Sam Bowie is only 29th all-time in points, and 8th in rebounds.  Tells ya how much the NBA loves centers.

-The highest scoring Unforgettable: John Pelphrey (31st), followed by Feldhaus (34th), Farmer (67th), and Woods (80th).

-The highest scoring 2-year player in UK history is NOT Chapman or Mercer, it’s Bill Spivey.

-If Rajon Rondo had stayed 4 years, he would have held the UK steals record by 74 steals.  And freakin Jared Prickett is 5th all-time in steals.  Huh??

-Only ONCE as UK been involved in a #1 vs #2 game.  1996 Final Four vs UMASS.

-Non conference opponent UK has the most wins against: Georgia Tech (57), although correct me if I’m wrong but I think G-Tech was in the same conference as UK for a time.

The more of these I see, I will give to you.  Yes, I am a nerd.  Are you surprised?

1. How about this report: It appears Arizona will make a push to hire Tubby Smith away from Minnesota for next year.  Tubby has a great recruiting class coming in, and unlike some coaches (cough…Petrino…cough) seems to be the type of guy who sticks it out until it becomes impossible to stay (cough…UK…cough).  But if he does take the Wildcats job, he will have the job of both teams UK played in the 1997 Final Four.  Sorry…nerd.

2. Cats still yet to receive any votes in either the AP or Coaches poll, but I think the Louisville game will give UK that chance.  I’m kinda interested in what you all think: Is this UK team one of the 25 best in the country?  I will not give my opinion because it sucks, as you all point out so often.

3. NBA Recap:
Bogans rusty, Prince very good in Magic-Pistons duel
Hayes neutral is Rockets win
